Joshua was keen to get back in the ring after his back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

He returned in April 2023 to beat Jermaine Franklin by unanimous decision, before taking on Robert Helenius, knocking him out in the seventh round at the O2 Arena just four months after.

To cap off a great run in 2023 he also defeated Otto Wallin convincingly, as the opposition’s corner had to retire the fighter.

Those quick successive victories are certainly a glimpse into his mentality and ability to get back out there and fight well, and against Ngannou should make no mistake.
