With the NFL regular season underway, odds for the team with the worst record in the NFL are available at the best NFL betting sites! While most people are making their Super Bowl bets, there are some great alternative options that savvy bettors should pay attention to.
That includes wagering on the NFL team finishing with the league’s worst record in the regular season. With that in mind, who will finish with the worst record in the NFL in 2024-25? Below, see the latest odds, analysis, and my NFL worst record predictions!
Betting Odds for the Worst Record in the NFL 2024-25
The following 2024-25 NFL worst record odds are courtesy of BetNow:
TEAM | ODDS |
---|---|
Carolina Panthers | +130 |
Denver Broncos | +300 |
New York Giants | +325 |
Tennessee Titans | +600 |
New England Patriots | +1100 |
Washington Commanders | +1700 |
Los Angeles Rams | +1800 |
Las Vegas Raiders | +2300 |
Indianapolis Colts | +2300 |
Jacksonville Jaguars | +3200 |
Following NFL Week 3, the Carolina Panthers (+130) are favored to finish with the worst record in the league. Despite an upset over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Panthers have the shortest price to finish with the worst mark in the NFL. They own a 43.5% implied probability of “winning” this bet!
In fact, all the top contenders to record the worst record won this past week. The Tennessee Titans (+600) are the only winless team left in the NFL. Although the Titans currently have the worst mark, they have the fourth-best odds to finish the season at the bottom.
The New England Patriots (+1100) opened as the favorite at +300, but have looked more impressive than expected in preseason projections. They are up to +1100, or an implied chance of 8.3%!

Favorites to Finish with Worst Record in the NFL
The top favorites at sports betting sites are not too surprising. These are all teams that lack skill and depth. However, what might be a bit of a surprise is the Patriots being favored to finish with the worst record.
Let’s delve into the leading candidates to end up in the basement of the league in 2024-25:
Carolina Panthers (+130)
The Panthers finished with the worst record in the NFL at 2-15 in 2024-25. Their only wins were against the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons in low-scoring upsets. Will anything change for the Panthers this season?
They are already one win away from matching their two wins from last season, so we’ll consider that a victory! The Panthers enter Week 4 of the NFL year with a record of 1-2 after back-to-back losses to open the season, and then were saved by QB Andy Dalton in Week 3.
With Bryce Young benched, Dalton seized the opportunity against the Raiders. Dalton will remain the starter in Carolina until further notice, but has that win provided some false hope? It’s important to understand the Panthers aren’t a good team despite the win.

The Panthers addressed offensive needs by signing offensive linemen Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis. Additionally, former Steelers’ WR Diontae Johnson inked a deal with the Panthers to bolster Young’s weapons.
I expect modest improvements for the offense, but even if this happens, the defense is paper-thin. Linebacker and pass rusher Brian Burns’ departure leaves a hole on an already depleted roster on the defensive side of the ball.
The schedule is going to get a lot tougher for the Panthers in a hurry, so I’m not convinced that the momentum will continue. Carolina opened the season at +600 to record the worst record, so oddsmakers at offshore betting sites aren’t convinced, either.
Denver Broncos (+300)
Another team entering a transition period are the Denver Broncos. They will not have a rookie head coach calling the shots, though. Super Bowl XLIV winner Sean Payton is entering his second season as the bench boss in Denver!
After rebuilding and turning the Saints into a champion, can he do the same with the Broncos? Perhaps in the future, but it isn’t happening in 2024-25. The Broncos are more likely to be in the race to the bottom and not contending for the AFC Championship.
Through Week 3, this is correct for the Broncos. They are 1-2, and it’s highly unlikely they are contending for any sort of championship. However, like the Panthers, the Broncos are coming off a huge win in upset fashion.
Denver knocked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 26-7 win on the road! And, again, I’m not convinced by the winning performance. The Broncos should remain at the bottom of the AFC West.
Like the Patriots, the Broncos hope to have drafted their franchise quarterback at the 2024 NFL Draft. Russell Wilson’s time in Denver did not play out as expected, so it’s back to the drawing board. The Broncos selected Oregon QB Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick this past April.
The rookie impressed in the NFL preseason, where he showed a solid grasp of the offense. In two matchups, Nix completed 76.7% of his passes with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

He led four touchdown drives and finished with a QB rating of 102.3 after passing for 125 yards and a touchdown in his debut. That being said, don’t read too far into one preseason start against a base defense.
In three regular season starts, Nix has been quite different under center. He’s passed for 600 yards, no touchdowns, and four interceptions. The Broncos’ defense frustrated Baker Mayfield and brought the Buccaneers down to earth.
Aside from Nix, the Broncos have Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham battling for playing time. If Nix doesn’t pan out this season, the Broncos are in for a ton of hurt. Former No. 1 WR Jerry Jeudy is in Cleveland, while Courtland Sutton is being floated as a potential trade target.
While the Broncos impressed at Tampa, like Carolina, they will regress and be unable to sustain this recent momentum. I wouldn’t trust the Broncos with Nix in his current form!
New York Giants (+325)
The New York Giants are another one-win team with the shortest NFL worst record odds. Similar to the Panthers and Broncos, the Giants were among the best NFL underdog picks in Week 3.
The Giants ousted the Cleveland Browns in a shocking 21-15 final score. Daniel Jones had his best performance of the season, but consistency has always been his problem.
We’ve seen Jones look the part in games. Doing it for a full season has been an issue, though. The Giants were on the losing side of a 28-6 final to the Vikings and 21-18 against the Commanders before edging out Cleveland.
Despite the criticism levied at Jones, the Giants have a solid enough defense to help them win games. It’s difficult to say the same for the Panthers and Broncos. The Giants’ defense can win this team five or six games. And, as I noted, Jones is good for a solid game here and there.

WR Malik Nabers continues to get more comfortable in the offense. The talented wide receiver is the only player in the NFL to account for more than half of the team’s air yardage — 57.6%. The Giants have a solid base to work with, so I don’t see them finishing with the worst record in 2024-25!
2024-25 NFL Worst Record Prediction and Betting Pick
The Patriots were the worst bet on the board at +300 to finish with the worst NFL record in 2024-25. They shouldn’t have been favored, and as expected, they are now more of a long shot for this bet at +1100.
My preseason pick was on the Panthers at +600, so the question is if they are worth betting at their current price of +130. While I am not ecstatic with these odds, the Panthers are, in my opinion, the worst team in the NFL. I am not going to get caught up in Dalton’s solid performance against the Raiders.
When the Panthers’ offensive line starts bending, the offense should begin to break again. With a tougher schedule on the horizon, this will likely be the result for a Panthers squad with little depth.
After betting on the Panthers at +600 three weeks ago, they remain in the driver’s seat for another trip to the basement of the NFL! Consider the Panthers for your worst NFL regular season record wager at BetNow.
