Thierry Henry teases Romelu Lukaku as Inter Milan star refuses to give shirt to CBS team

Thierry Henry couldn’t help but tease Romelu Lukaku as the Inter Milan striker made excuses for why he couldn’t hand over his shirt.

The on-loan Chelsea forward came on for the final 24 minutes as Inter beat rivals AC Milan 1-0 at the San Siro.

That ensured their place in June’s Champions League final, with an emphatic 3-0 aggregate victory, where they will face either Man City or Real Madrid.

Henry and Lukaku have a strong relationship from when the former Arsenal and Barcelona forward was a coach with the Belgium national team.

Henry was the one who consoled the striker on the pitch as they crashed out of the World Cup, with Lukaku punching the dugout in frustration.

The pair were reunited on the CBS Golazo show following the Champions League semi-final victory.

The CBS pundit said: “I’m not often worried and that’s not my normal reaction what I did to Rom what I did at the World Cup. Normally I’m more tougher than that. I’ve changed recently, but that’s a different ball game.

“Joking aside, for two weeks I was worried. He knows that because I texted him every single day asking him how he was because it wasn’t easy.

“You guys didn’t know what was happening, but it wasn’t easy. He’s come out of it and that’s why I’m very proud of him and for Inter also.

“He was very far from where he is now, so hopefully he can carry on.”

After the nice words were exchanged and Lukaku was leaving Henry wanted to get something in return.

He said: “Wait, wait, wait. What I said wasn’t for free. I want the shirt, man. You think it was for free?”

Lukaku: “I have to do doping now, but I’ll keep it for you.

Henry: “He doesn’t have my body so he doesn’t want to show that.”

Cue laughter and shouting from the rest of his CBS colleagues.

Lukaku: “I’m getting into trouble.

Carragher: “Everyone gets into trouble on here.”
