Thierry Henry is every Arsenal fan after Jermain Defoe makes bold Tottenham prediction

Arsenal fans did not have much to cheer on Thursday night – but they would have enjoyed Thierry Henry’s chat with Jermain Defoe.

The Gunners suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at home to West Ham, missing the chance to enter the New Year top of the Premier League.

It was also a miserable night for Tottenham, whose three-match winning run ended in calamitous fashion with a 4-2 defeat at Brighton.

Spurs are now fifth, one point behind Manchester City in fourth, and six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

With third-place Aston Villa also establishing themselves as top-four contenders this season, Amazon Prime asked their pundits to predict who will qualify for the Champions League this season.

Ex-Tottenham striker Defoe predicted Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal.

This drew a spectacular response from Gunners legend Henry.

“What!?” the former striker said with a quizzical look on his face.

Henry motioned towards Defoe and continued: “What did you say!? Tottenham?!”

Defoe simply laughed and said: “Why not?”

Henry’s time at Arsenal coincided with a period of dominance for the Gunners in north London.

They finished above Spurs for 21 successive league campaigns, stretching from the 1995/96 season until the 2015/16 campaign.

However, while neither club has achieved any real league success since Henry’s ‘Invincibles’ of 2003/04, Tottenham have finished higher in the table for six of the last seven years.
