Monday – Week 5 Studs and Duds & Grizzly Facts
The two best friends take on the Monday show – Mike and Jason are piloting the ship as Andy is out. The guys start by getting sophisticated.
News
Jonathan Taylor returned with a contract extension and ruined some fantasy managers this week. Bears RB Khalil Herbert has a high ankle sprain after the Thursday night game, and Chris Olave looks to be dealing with some injury, as he was testing it out Sunday before the game. Anthony Richardson looks to miss some time with an AC joint injury. Daniel Jones and Travis Kelce also went down, and Justin Jefferson exited his game as well. Davante Adams is expected to play in the Monday night game.
Studs
Justin Fields was amazing on Sunday. Josh Allen continues to impress, and Jared Goff was incredible with his main pass catcher out. Jalen Hurts had a big day on the ground and welcome Desmond Ridder to the studs section. Brock Purdy had four TDs and looked unbeatable, and welcome back, Joseph Burrow. On to the RBs, who were highlighted with Travis Etienne. Zack Moss dominated in Indy, and the guys think you can start him one more week. Breece Hall is back, and De’Von Achane was over 100 yards on his third carry. David Montgomery dominated again, and you were happy if you spent your FAAB on Jaleel McLaughlin.
DJ Moore slayed on Thursday, and yesterday, Ja’Marr Chase said, “Hold my beer.” Tyreek Hill looked great but seemed to be dealing with something. Old man Adam Thielen continues to rule garbage time. Gabe Davis is the WR12 on the season, and De’Andre Hopkins was making things happen left and right. Welcome back, Cooper Kupp in Los Angeles. On to the TEs – George Kittle smashed, and the Dallas Goedert squeaky wheel got the grease. Rookie Sam LaPorta is the TE1 on the season. The Doctor finally returned to the office, and Darren Waller got a bunch of targets.
Duds
Lamar Jackson played great, but no one seemed to want to catch the football for him on Sunday. It was a bizarre game for Trevor Lawrence, and Dak Prescott was bad. It was a down game fantasy-wise for CJ Stroud. RB Tony Pollard was a dud in the gross game against the Niners on Sunday night. JT was eased back in, and Derrick Henry came back down to Earth. James Cook only had five attempts and did not get positive yardage, and Rhamondre had another stinker, and Jason is looking into trading for him. Miles Sanders had another bad game, and Kyren Williams is human, after all. Oh, Najee.
DeVonta Smith had a down game with Goedert performing. The entire passing offense in Dallas was putrid. Garrett Wilson was unable to do much against Denver, and Brandon Aiyuk was overshadowed by George Kittle. Hunter Henry goosed you, and Tyler Higbee was not great. Evan Engram had his first real down game of the season.
Enjoy the Monday night game!
Tuesday – Week 6 Waivers and Streamers & Jason Weeps
Monday Night Recap
The Raiders beat the Packers in this incredibly exciting game. Jordan Love looked exposed and could not get it together. TE Luke Musgrave was the only valuable pass catcher for Green Bay, and AJ Dillon actually had a decent day. On the other side of the ball, Josh Jacobs continued to plod on and had decent fantasy production, and Davante Adams wasn’t really used at all. It was a true fart fest.
News
The Vikings plan to place Justin Jefferson on IR, so he is out for at least four games. De’Von Achane is also expected to miss multiple weeks, and Jason feels great. James Conner also has a knee injury, and the Cardinals signed Tony Jones. Dan Campbell feels pretty good about Amon-Ra playing this week, and Deshaun Watson remains day to day. Travis Kelce was a DNP on Monday; the Chiefs play on Thursday.
Waivers
Starting with the RBs – Khalil Herbert will miss significant time, and Roschon Johnson becomes an option, even after a concussion last week. D’Onta Foreman is also an option. Baltimore RB Justice Hill looked fully healthy last week, but the Ravens don’t have great matchups in the next two weeks. He is, however, a good season-long option. Emari Demercado played great when James Conner went out, but keep an eye out if Keaontay Ingram is active. Jaleel McLaughlin needs to be looked at as well. In Miami, Jeff Wilson Jr. should be activated, and Salvon Ahmed is an option. Start thinking about stashing other backups.
Pay attention to the Chargers’ WRs as they are coming back from bye. Josh Downs from the Colts is an option, and he has been great with Minshew under center. With the Justin Jefferson injury, KJ Osborn becomes a possibility, and you can consider Tyler Boyd, but don’t chase Curtis Samuel. Mike likes Rashee Rice as a stash if you are happy with your team. Logan Thomas is Mike’s number-one TE option, and Jason is swallowing his pride and looking at Cole Kmet. If Travis Kelce is sidelined, Noah Gray could be a grab.
Atlanta has a good matchup this week, and Kansas City has three good matchups on the horizon. Jason likes the Rams as a pickup.
Streamers
Mike is streaming Matt Stafford this week against Arizona, and Jason is going with Joshua Dobbs or Brock Purdy.
Wednesday – Fantasy Draft Re-Do & Hungry for More, TNF Preview
The gang is back together!
Hungry For More
The guys have seen the flashes, and Andy is hungry for more from TE Logan Thomas, who is currently the TE7. Jason is hungry for more from Rhamondre Stevenson, and Mike wants more from Jordan Addison.
News
De’Von Achane was officially placed on IR. Ekeler looks to be back, Diontae Johnson should play next week, and Van Jefferson was traded to the Falcons. Daniel Jones is still battling a sore neck.
Mock Draft Redo
The guys jump in to do a second turn at the fantasy draft and are picking the top 24 picks. Mike starts with CMC, Jason goes with Tyreek Hill, and Andy chooses not to mess with the confusing RB selections and picks Ja’Marr Chase. The next two are Cooper Kupp and Austin Ekeler, and Andy decides between sexy and reliable and goes with David Montgomery. Bijan, Stefon Diggs, Breece Hall, Keenan Allen, and JT follow. Travis Kelce holds on until pick 15.
Thursday Night Breakdown
Yay! Russell Wilson is in primetime again! You have a terrible Broncos defense versus Patrick Mahomes and a dysfunctional offense against a Chiefs solid defense. Jason thinks this could hurt Mahomes’ success. You can start Pacheco and Kelce if he plays, and that is it. You can take a shot on Jaleel McLaughlin, but that might be scary.
Thursday – Starts of the Week & Week 6 Breakdown, Iffy Starts
Jason went on IR for the next two days, so it is the Mike and Andy show!
News
Deshaun Watson missed practice again, and PJ Walker might get the start. Jeff Wilson returned to a limited practice and looks to play this week. Mike Evans did not practice Wednesday which concerns Mike, and Keaontay Ingram got back to practice. Travis Kelce is questionable to play tonight, but Taylor Swift will be there, as Mike eagerly reports.
Fantasy Forecast
And here comes another London game with Baltimore and Tennesee in Andy’s almost upset of the week. Keep an eye on the split between Tyjae Spears and Derrick Henry – Spears is worth a dart throw if you think the Ravens will dominate the game script. De’Andre Hopkins is also in play. For Baltimore, you are only starting Zay Flowers or Mark Andrews. Washington takes on Atlanta in the next matchup. Brian Robinson is an option, and Terry McLaurin can be started. Looking at the Falcons, there is a world where Desmond Ridder could be competent, and Drake London is an option.
Minnesota and Chicago battle to see who wants Caleb WIlliams more. You are starting both Addison and KJ Osborn with Justin Jefferson out, and TJ Hockenson might also have a huge day. Justin Fields is a must-start, and you must keep an eye on Roschon Johnson clearing the concussion protocol. You can start Cole Kmet. Seattle heads east to play Cincinnati, and this one could be interesting. Tee Higgins could be a game-time decision, and Mike thinks he won’t play. Tyler Boyd is a desperation play if Higgins is out. For Seattle, start your studs.
San Francisco heads to Ohio to play Cleveland in what could be a defensive battle. If Deshaun Watson is out, Andy is leaning away from playing any Browns. You can start your Niners studs but don’t expect a ceiling game. The Panthers have to play the Dolphins, and this could be a massacre. Even with this game script, Adam Thielen can still be started, but the guys say not to touch Miles Sanders. For Miami, start your stars, and Jeff Wilson could be a flex.
Jacksonville plays Indy after going 2-0 in London. Your Jag WRs are starts. With Gardner Minshew in the lineup, Andy has confidence in the pass catchers. Deciding between Moss and JT can be a crap shoot – best of luck.
Starts of the Week
Andy is going with Kirk Cousins, Raheem Mostert, Calvin Ridley, and Logan Thomas this week. Mike is starting Matt Stafford, Isiah Pacheco, Chris Godwin, and nasty boy Zach Ertz. Jason is starting the Matterhorn.
The show ends with Mike stepping in for Jason’s Boom Boom Kicker.
Friday – Week 6 Matchups & Start/Sit Help, Wheel of Shame!
Thursday Night Recap
Talk about scary – you did not lose to Travis Kelce last night in quite a barnburner. The Denver defense did show up, and Isiah Pacheco was the primary weapon in the Chiefs’ offense. Rashee Rice also looked good and has some potential moving forward. On the other side, Denver was extremely difficult to watch. Courtland Sutton had a great TD catch, and Jerry Jeudy has one foot out the door.
News
Deshaun Watson will not play, and Amari Cooper becomes a nervous start. Mike Evans is a full-go for Sunday. Tee Higgins is still limited, and Jeff Wilson is limited as well, and it is still up in the air whether he will be activated. The Bears’ RBs are still sidelined, and Sam LaPorta tweaked his calf last week, so have a pivot ready. Daniel Jones is out, and Chris Olave is back to a full practice.
Fantasy Forecast
The Saints and Texans start us off today. Chris Olave is good to go, and you can flex Michael Thomas. Alvin Kamara is a great start against Houston. Most of the Texans’ weapons don’t have a good matchup here, so start Dameon Pierce with caution. Stroud is not a good option this week. New England plays Las Vegas in a Jimmy G. revenge game. Andy thinks the Raiders are a sneaky defensive play, and he is trying not to start a Patriots player. On the other side, it’s Adams, Jacobs, and Meyers.
The Cardinals take on the Rams in an NFC West battle. The Rams are beatable with the TE, so you can start Zach Ertz. It’s a crap shoot with which RB will take the torch from James Conner, and Hollywood Brown is a start. Wheels up Cooper Kupp for the Rams, along with Puka and Kyren Williams. Philly takes on the Jets in a low over/under game. Garrett Wilson is the big question here, and Philly should be ahead quickly and easily, so you can hope that New York will throw. Start all your Eagles studs, including Dallas Goedert. Breece Hall is a scary start, but he can always break a long run.
The Detroit Lions head south to play the Tampa Bay Bucs. If you start Rachaad White, you are hoping for pass-catching. Chris Godwin is Mike’s start of the week, and also start Mike Evans. Cade Otton might not goose you. Start Monty and Amon-Ra if he is a go. Monitor Sam LaPorta and his health. Sunday night brings us the Giants and Bills in a Tyrod Taylor revenge game. You might have to start Darren Waller. If Saquon is back, he is back in your lineup. Start all your Bills studs.
Cowboys and Chargers close out the week in the Kellen Moore revenge game. Welcome back, Austin Ekeler, and Mike is willing to start Josh Palmer. Dak should be an okay start, but there is a big Mike McCarthy problem.
After the guys reveal their Draft Kings lineups, Mike finally spins the Wheel of Shame, and we head into Week 6. Good luck, FootClan!
