NHL Sunday parlay at mega (+1232) odds, today 1/15: Canucks crumble in Carolina

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Kyle Burroughs

With only 3 games on the ice today, it’s a rather slow Sunday. Not only are there fewer matchups, each one features a very heavy home favorite. That makes it even more difficult to find value for a truly incredible payout. However, we’ve found some combination props as a way to play today’s games. Better yet, we’ll only need 2 legs to cash for an overall win. We prefer to give you a bit more variety, but with the limited slate, let’s check out where we’ve found value.

Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 & Under 6.5 (+310) over Vancouver Canucks

As mentioned, all 3 home teams are significant favorites today. Even taking all of them on the puck line doesn’t give us true mega odds. Instead, we’ve combined one of the puck lines with a total. Both of these teams will be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, and both will have travel involved. Therefore, we expect a sluggish start which should help lead to the lower-scoring part of this play. That hasn’t been the trend for the Canucks, but the Hurricanes should do their part taking over.

Even when they play 2 nights in a row, they have 3 very capable goaltenders. Frederik Andersen only just returned, and Antii Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov went a combined 20-6 in his absence. Meanwhile, the Canucks have been anything but consistent this season. That should allow Carolina to take control of this game as expected. However, Carolina isn’t known for lighting up the scoreboard either, and Max Pacioretty was also out last night. Overall, we’re expecting a game in which both teams start out slow with the ‘Canes taking control late to cover the puck line.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 & Under 6.5 (+225) over Arizona Coyotes

Our 2nd play is the same combination prop with the final game of the evening. Only the Coyotes will be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back in this matchup, so it’s no surprise the Jets are favorites of greater than -300. They certainly deserve to be as they’ve been one of the best teams in the Western Conference. In fact, with the Dallas Stars losing yesterday afternoon, they just took over the top spot in the Central Division. With that in mind, the Jets winning by multiple goals should not be the surprising part of this play.

The other half is what could cause some hesitation. However, as mentioned, Winnipeg will be the ones coming in with rest. That means goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will be in net. He’s led the NHL in saves the last 4 seasons and is one of the most consistent goalies in the league. Therefore, we’re not expecting the Coyotes to find the back of the net much, if at all. The Jets do have some firepower, but Arizona at least saved starting goaltender Karel Vejmelka for this game rather than using him last night. This will likely be a sweat, but a 5-1 type game could be in store.

Sunday’s NHL mega parlay (1/15)

Hurricanes -1.5 & Under 6.5 (+310)

Jets -1.5 & Under 6.5 (+225)

Parlay odds +1232
