NHL Picks March 27: Devils at Islanders Featured Game

The NHL regular season is down to the final few weeks and each game becomes more critical for playoff seeding. The Islanders host the Devils in the featured game on March 27.

New Jersey Devils versus New York Islanders

Florida won the only game between the two teams this season by a 5-3 score. Both teams have been consistent with regard to their favorite/underdog status. Let’s go with Ottawa to take care of home ice, perhaps in overtime.

Seattle Kraken versus Minnesota Wild

Minnesota comes into play “burning hot” having won four of their last six, while Seattle is “ice cold up” and 2-1 over their last three games. The teams have been involved in high-scoring games, going “over” in 10 of their last 12 combined, and the Score Predictor has Seattle by a 4-3 score with about 50 percent confidence. The teams are 1-1 against each other this year, both winning on the road. Minnesota has been more consistent with regard to their favorite/underdog status. I like Minnesota to prevail and will go against the trend, betting “under” the line.

Edmonton Oilers versus Arizona Coyotes

Edmonton enters the contest riding a five-game winning streak, while Arizona has lost their last two. The Oilers are “burning hot” versus “average” and +23 to +6 on the Power Ranks Indicator. The Score Predictor has the Oilers by a 4-3 margin with 78 percent confidence. Edmonton won the last game between the two teams at home by a 4-3 score in overtime. The Oilers should have an easier time in this win, winning by a few goals in a game “over” the line.
