The NHL season resumes play on February 6 after the All-Star break and teams are looking to make pushes toward the postseason. There are several games of importance coming up with the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Florida Panthers leading the way.
Tampa Bay Lightning versus Florida Panthers
In this Atlantic Division battle, the Panthers host the Lightning. Tampa Bay comes in “burning hot” versus “average” and are road favorites with odds of 1.752 to 2.252. The Lighting are +26 to +6 on the Power Ranks Indicator and the Score Prediction is Tampa Bay by a 4-3 score with 66 percent confidence. Both teams have been involved in games over the line in each of their last six games. The Lightning have won both previous games between the teams this season and I don’t see that trend changing. GO with the Lightning in a game “over” the line.
New York Islanders versus Philadelphia Flyers
Both teams are near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers are 2-4 over their last six and “average up”, while the Flyers are also 2-4 over their last six and “ice cold up”. The odds are even at 1.970 and the Score Prediction has New York by a 3-2 margin with 86 percent confidence. New York has been involved in games “under” the line in each of their last three and Philadelphia has been “over” in four of their last six. New York is +11 to +4 on the Power Ranks Indicator. Philadelphia won the last game between these teams at home. I see the opposite this time around, but pass on the over/under bet.
Calgary Flames versus New York Rangers
Calgary enters in the middle of the Pacific Division and the Rangers are 3rd in the Atlantic Division. Both teams have won three of their last six and are “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. New York is the favorite with odds of 1.892 to 2.055 and the Score Prediction has the Rangers by a 4-3 score with 61 percent confidence. The teams have been trending in games “over” the line. This is the first game between the teams this season. Calgary owned the Rangers last year, winning both games by a combined score of 11-1. I like the Rangers to get back at the Flames in this one, winning in a game “over” the line.
Anaheim Ducks versus Dallas Stars
Dallas is on top in the Central Division and the Ducks are last in the Pacific Division. Anaheim has played much better recently with three straight wins and “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Dallas is “ice cold down” after three straight losses, but they have a +25 to +10 advantage on the Power Ranks Indicator. Dallas is a home favorite with odds of 1.35 to 3.62, but the Score Prediction has Anaheim by a 3-2 score but with only 31 percent confidence. The teams are 1-1 against each other this year, each winning with a shutout. I like Dallas to get back on track, but the teams are trending on opposite sides of the over/under, so pass on that bet.
