Will the Madden Curse take down the Bills?
Bills quarterback Josh Allen was announced as the cover star for the upcoming Madden video game. There is a theory amongst NFL fans and Internet hacks that there is a curse on the player and team that graces the cover of the popular video game.
Since 1999, conspiracy theorists can claim the player that appeared on the Madden cover experienced a poor campaign. From injuries to sudden retirements, the Madden cover makes many fans cringe.
It seems that the last cursed cover star was Antonio Brown in 2018-19. Brown scored 15 touchdowns that season but was later traded to the Raiders. He then bounced around teams before leaving the NFL.
Since then, Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, Mahomes, and Madden himself have graced the covers. None of the four were cursed and the three players went on to have stellar seasons.
