The NFL season is moving right along and we are already at week six. There are only two undefeated teams remaining. We’ll take a look at the prospects of the Eagles and 49ers remaining undefeated as well as three other contests.
San Francisco 49ers versus Cleveland Browns
One of only two undefeated teams, the 49ers head to Cleveland to take on the 2-3 Cleveland Browns. San Francisco is a 9.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.21 to 4.42 with an over/under of 35.5. The teams have been trending on opposite sides of the line with a score prediction of 37-16 in favor of the 49ers. San Francisco has a 73 percent chance of winning as a five-star road favorite. Such favorites are 4-1 over the last 30 days. The 49ers have also covered the spread in four of their last five games as a favorite. Go with the 49ers to win and cover in a game “over” the line.
Philadelphia Eagles versus New York Jets
The Eagles improved to 5-0 after a 23-14 win in Los Angeles. They are “burning hot” versus “average” and +31 to +3 on the Power Ranks Indicator. Philadelphia is a 7.5-point road favorite with odds of 1.3 to 3.665 and an over/under of 40.5. There is an 83 percent winning rate picking Philadelphia over the last six games. They have won each of the past five games as favorites and have an 81 percent chance of winning this contest. The score prediction is all Philadelphia, 36-8. I don’t see a formula for the Jets to win unless the Eagles completely overlook them. Go with Philadelphia to win and cover, but pass on the “over/under” bet.
Seattle Seahawks versus Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati looks to even their record after a much-needed win over Arizona last week. Seattle comes in with a surprisingly good record of 3-2 but are 2.5-point road underdogs with an over/under of 45.5. Seattle has a +22 to +9 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The score prediction has Cincinnati by four in a game that totals 54 points but the confidence is only 56 percent. There is a 67 percent success rate of picking the Bengals over the last six games. Seattle is a five-star road favorite with “burning hot” status. I like Seattle to continue their hot ways in a game “over” the line.
Indianapolis Colts versus Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville comes in having won their last two. They are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +18 on the Power Ranks Indicator. The Colts are 3-2 on the season, “average up” and +13, respectively. The Jaguars are 4.5-point home favorites with odds of 1.510 to 2.587 with an over/under of 44.5. Jacksonville have covered the spread in 4 of the last 5 games as favorites. The teams have been trending in games “under” the line, but the score prediction has Jacksonville by 33-22 with 52 percent confidence. Jacksonville has a 61 percent chance of winning. I like the Jaguars at home but will pass on the over/under bet.
Detroit Lions versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Lions head to Tampa Bay on a three-game winning streak and 4-1 on the season. The Buccaneers got back on track last week with a 26-9 win over the Saints. Detroit is a 3.5-point favorite with odds of 1.62 to 2.358 and an over/under of 42.5. Detroit covered in four of the last five games as favorite. The teams have been trending on opposite sides of the over/under line. The score prediction is for the Lions to win by 10 but the confidence level is under 50 percent. Detroit has a 59 percent chance to win this one. Iike Detroit minus the line in a game “over” the line.
