NFL DFS Tournament Takes: Week 17 (Fantasy Football)

Footclan, it is an absolute honor and privilege to be able to share my tournament thoughts with you on a weekly basis this season. My goal is to give you an extra resource to use when creating your lineups. I usually play one or two hand-built lineups every week and I’ve had much success in my career playing that way. Each week I’ll discuss my favorite stacks to utilize in large-field tournaments, ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

In Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, I won the Milly Maker and several other six-figure contests on DraftKings. I’ve also been to five live finals where I have competed against some of the best players in the industry. I’m so excited to be able to help you gain an advantage and win some big money this year!

As we approach the final two weeks of the regular season, it’s crucial to gear up and strategize for that long-awaited significant victory. Taking down a tournament, especially with a challenging 13-game slate, is no simple task. Yet, after extensive research, I’m filled with confidence regarding certain key plays that stand out as my top choices. Let’s dive into the details.

Slate Specific Thoughts

This Sunday’s slate looks to be spread out at every position. While there are some chalky plays worth consideration, there will also be plenty of players that fly under the radar on this big of a slate. Certainly, you’re not going to be able to get a piece of everything in every lineup you’re playing, and that’s where the tough decisions will need to be made. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to ownership this weekend, simply because with this many games on the slate it shouldn’t be difficult to differentiate yourself from the field.

I’ve broken this tradition once before this season, and I’m going to have to break it again. I do not have a game of the week that truly stands out above all. What I’ll do instead is just run you through some of the best plays on this massive slate.

High End

RB Christian McCaffrey $9,600 – Might as well start at the top with CMC. The best player in one of the best matchups will be very popular, however, I think this is a potential lock button depending on how you plan on structuring your team this Sunday. $9,600 is not cheap by any means, but the advantage to having so many games on one slate is that there will be value across the board that will allow you to spend up on McCaffrey.
