NFL DFS Tournament Takes: Week 16 (Fantasy Football)

CeeDee Lamb #88 of the Dallas Cowboys looks on from the field during an NFL football game against the Seattle Seahawks at AT&T Stadium on November 30, 2023 in Arlington, Texas.

Footclan, it is an absolute honor and privilege to be able to share my tournament thoughts with you on a weekly basis this season. My goal is to give you an extra resource to use when creating your lineups. I usually play one or two hand-built lineups every week and I’ve had much success in my career playing that way. Each week I’ll discuss my favorite stacks to utilize in large-field tournaments, ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

In Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, I won the Milly Maker and several other six-figure contests on DraftKings. I’ve also been to five live finals where I have competed against some of the best players in the industry. I’m so excited to be able to help you gain an advantage and win some big money this year!

Last Sunday’s Fantasy Football World Championship live final in Arizona was quite an experience. While I didn’t reach my dream placement, securing 48th out of 200 of the best players in the game is a solid accomplishment that I can be proud of. Now I’ve got four best ball teams in the semifinals on DraftKings so I’m hoping I can squeeze at least one of those teams into the finals for a chance to win $1,000,000. We’ll see what happens, but we do have a very nice slate of games this Sunday, so I’m pumped regardless of the outcome!

Slate Specific Thoughts

This week’s slate has to be one of the best slates in terms of the quality of games we’ve seen all season. If you’re building one or two lineups like me, you’re going to have to make some tough decisions because there are so many options available. On the contrary, if your plan is to build many different lineups, you’re having a field day with how much there is out there. The running back position is the most intriguing to me, with the top option being Rachaad White at $7,400. We’ve got a plethora of high-end options at quarterback, wide receiver, and even tight end, so it’ll be interesting to see where the field puts most of its focus. Let’s kick it off with my favorite Game of the Week.

Game of the Week Lions @ Vikings (O/U 47.5)

I went back and forth many times between this game and the Cowboys/Dolphins game. Value is the biggest reason why I ended up here, although I believe both games will shoot out. Not only are the quarterbacks cheaper, but the receivers are cheaper, and we also have more options with the Lions and Vikings having two of the best tight ends on the slate. Now, typically cheaper means not as good, but just to use the receivers as an example, we’re still talking about Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and rookie standout Jordan Addison. So, to sum it up, I love both games equally, but for DFS purposes, I’m siding with the game that provides us the best opportunity to stack, and still build a solid core around it.
