Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays, before we piece together the stacking options.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

These lines are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook and are accurate as of time of publishing.

Overview

At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:

• With seven games to consider, note that all of the totals are lower than you might imagine. The divisional and conference championship matchups will likely hit around that 50+ mark. But just for reference, 65 percent of the games this year with a 50+ point total hit the under. They weren’t all they were cracked up to be.
• We have two double-digit favorites this week. Over the last decade, we’ve had just five 10+ point favorites on Wild Card weekend. Those teams went 5-0 straight up, 4-1 against the spread, and they averaged 29.6 points per game. Leaning into San Francisco and Buffalo with the two largest team-implied totals on the slate makes a ton of sense.
• Over the last five years, underdogs on Wild Card weekend have covered the spread 60 percent of the time. If you’re taking the route of an underdog coming through, consider how you might use this as leverage against the field.
• NOTE: All salaries discussed are DraftKings-specific.
