The MLB season is about a month away from the All-Star break and it’s not too early for teams to make a push towards playoff contention. There are several games scheduled for Monday, June 12 with the Angels and Rangers headlining the action.
Colorado Rockies versus Boston Red Sox
Both teams have been struggling lately. The Rockies are 2-4 over their last six and “ice cold down” while the Red Sox are 1-5 and “dead” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Boston has a +11 to +3 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams have been trending on opposite sides of the “over/under” line and the Score Predictor likes Boston by a 6-4 score with 51 percent confidence. Colorado has been much more stable with regard to their favorite/underdog status. I like Boston at home but pass on the over/under bet.
San Francisco Giants versus St. Louis Cardinals
Here’s a case of two teams heading in opposite directions. The Giants are “burning hot” versus “dead up” on the Team Strength Oscillator and +18 versus +1 on the Power Ranks Indicator. Both teams have been trending in games “under” the line, and the Score Predictor likes the Giants in a 10-5 blowout with 79 percent confidence. San Francisco won three of the first four games between the teams this season. The Cardinals have been very unstable, coming in at -5 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. I like the Giants in a game “over” the line.
Los Angeles Angels versus Texas Rangers
In this AL West clash, both teams have been playing excellent baseball. The Angels have won four straight and are “burning hot” while the Rangers are “burning hot down” after going 5-1 over their last six. The teams have been even over their last 12 games with regard to the over/under line and the Score Predictor likes Texas by a 6-2 score with 72 percent confidence. Texas has a +29 to +19 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator and +15 to +7 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Texas won two of the first three games between the teams this season. I like that trend to continue but pass on the over/under bet.
Philadelphia Phillies versus Arizona Diamondbacks
The Phillies have won five straight and the Diamondbacks are 4-2 over their last six. Both teams are “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator and Arizona has a +23 to +17 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams have been reading on opposite sides of the “over/under” line, and the Score Predictor likes Arizona by a slim 5-4 margin but with only 34 percent confidence. Arizona won two of three in Philadelphia at the end of May. I like the Phillies to reverse the trend this weekend, winning in a game “over” the line.
Miami Marlins versus Seattle Mariners
Miami comes in as one of the hottest teams in the league, winners of their last six games. Seattle is 2-4 over their last six games and “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Miami has a +26 to +9 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams have been involved in games “over” the line in 7 of their last 12 games, and the Score Predictor likes Miami by a 7-3 score with 76 percent confidence in the prediction. Both teams have been consistent with regard to their favorite/underdog status, coming in at +8 and +7 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. I like Miami to continue their hot streak in a game “over” the line.
