Mohamed Salah has reportedly been the subject of a world record bid as Al Ittihad desperately look to sign the Liverpool legend.
The Saudi Pro League champions had an offer rising to £150m knocked back by the Reds last week for the 31-year-old.
talkSPORT revealed how Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were prepared to go again in their quest to tempt the Merseyside outfit into a sale.
And according to The Sun, a new proposal of £175m was lodged on Monday night, with potential add-ons taking the deal to £215m.
That would eclipse the £198m fee Paris Saint-Germain paid to Barcelona to bring Neymar to Parc des Princes in 2017.
Al Ittihad chiefs are currently in England to thrash out a deal ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline in the Gulf nation.
It has been said that Salah would become one of the highest-paid athletes in history with a weekly wage of £2.4m on the table.
In addition, Salah would pocket £55k per win, while he would also hold a large percentage in shirt sales.
And if that wasn’t enough, the Egypt international will bank almost £20m in further incentives having been offered ambassadorial roles for at least three major Saudi companies.
Spread over the duration of his contract, the news outlet claims this would be worth £18m, with each firm willing to pay him £6m.
With two years still left to run on his deal at Anfield, it has been alleged that Liverpool chiefs are debating whether to cash in on the player.
Should Al Ittihad fail in their pursuit this week, they will launch a fresh swoop to secure his services in the New Year.
If Salah does complete a move, he would link up with ex-Liverpool teammate Fabinho at the King Abdullah Sports City following the Brazilian’s transfer last month.
Also on the club’s books are Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and ex-Celtic forward Jota.
Salah has started the opening four Premier League games for the Reds this term – chipping in with two goals and as many assists.
