JJ Redick Takes a Shot at Doc Rivers After Game 7

This was buried between Game 7 discourse and clips from press conferences, but JJ Redick, Giannis MVP voter, fired off a little shot at Doc right as the clock hit zero:

This stems from Doc’s comment earlier this season when he was asked why those Lob City Clippers teams he coached never got over the hump and mentioned they couldn’t win without cooperation:

“Not trying to take anything away from that [Clippers] team. That team was never going to win… we just didn’t get along well enough as a group & you can’t win without cooperation.”

JJ and Doc though are having a mid-off. Who accomplished less during their time in Philly? JJ Redick was great in the DHO game running around picks set by Joel Embiid, but was always hunted on defense and never made it out of the second round. Doc Rivers has now lost the last five Game 7s he’s coached. Two of them while coaching the Sixers. I’m giving the slight edge to Doc because he’s now been here longer and has lost in the second round three times compared to JJ’s two. Fair is fair. Now back to more important things, like refreshing the timeline until Woj tweets Doc Rivers has been relieved of his duties. It looks like the front office still hasn’t made a decision on his future yet:
