Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury will take place on Sunday, with key details now confirmed for fight fans in the UK.
BT Sport has announced the pay-per-view price to watch the fight on, as well as the expected start time for the main event, which takes place in Saudi Arabia.
To watch on BT Sport, it will cost £19.95.
It has also been confirmed that live coverage on BT Sport Box Office will begin from 6.30pm UK time.
The Paul vs Fury main event ring walk start time is expected for 9:30pm UK time on Sunday 26th February.
This is slightly earlier than the standard start time for major fights in the UK, which typically begin at 10:30pm/11pm UK time.
It’s understandable, though, as Saudi Arabia is three hours ahead of the UK.
That time over here translates to 12:30am in Saudi.
The PPV price announcement, as usual, has split opinion.
One reacted: “No grown man will be interested in watching this surely?”
A second posted a meme which simply branded the price: “Shameless.”
However, many reacted positively.
One put: “That’s actually decent value for once in 2023.”
And a second wrote: “Oh my god, let’s moan and b**** about the price. Don’t f***ing watch it then, it’s really that simple.”
Perhaps the biggest endorsement of Paul in the ring, however, has come from Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion.
“I love the fact he jumped into the game,” he said in 2022.
“People don’t understand that boxing needs that. At this stage in boxing the greatest fighters are not fighting each other, boxing needs a guy like this.
“Listen, when he fights he brings 75 million to the box office.”
However, it will be free on talkSPORT with EXCLUSIVE radio rights to the fight being live on 26 February.
talkSPORT.com will also be running a live blog HERE to take you through every punch in Saudi Arabia.
Boxing journalist Nick Peet joined talkSPORT to explain why the price might be what it is.
“Jake Paul and Tommy Fury have audiences outside of boxing,” he pointed out, alluding to their celebrity and social media following.
“The most important fan is the casual fan,” Peet added. “Jake Paul and Tommy Fury bring millions of eyeballs. The backdoor [to boxing] was left wide open and these YouTubers have flooded in and exploited the opportunity to make a fortune.”
Both Fury and Paul are now in Saudi Arabia a week out from the fight that has been called off previously.
Before he left Manchester, Fury told talkSPORT he would most likely hang up his gloves if he can’t beat the YouTuber-turned boxer.
And Paul ramped up the pressure on his rival by highlighting his past as a Disney actor. This will be interesting.
