With just four games remaining in the fantasy regular season, finding a player to put into your lineups who’s ready to become a playoff legend and take a leap forward can be the missing spice to a great recipe! Ahead of Week 11, the Ballers are serving up a few players they’re looking to take a step forward in Hungry for More presented by Uber Eats!
Each week the Ballers will pick a player who super-sized their game in the past week and decide if they’ll continue to eat at the big guy’s table or go back to the kid’s table. Of course, I’ll give you an extra side dish or two to go along with Andy, Mike, and Jason’s main course! Let me know if you think we’re cooking up a high-end meal or if it’s more like gas station sushi!
Devin Singletary – Houston Texans, RB
Week 10 | ||
Carries | Rushing Yards | TDs |
30 | 150 | 1 |
After being a huge disappointment in Week 9, Andy is looking for Devin Singletary to continue his hot hand this week. Singletary had the Texans’ backfield to himself again in Week 10 and made the most of his opportunity converting his 30 carries into 150 yards and a TD for an RB3 finish on the week. The most tempting argument for keeping Singletary in fantasy lineups is the 69 points the Texans have scored over the last two weeks. Rookie QB CJ Stroud has Houston’s offense playing boiling hot offensively and any time fantasy managers can get an RB in that type of offense there’s sure to be plenty of points available for the taking.
The biggest question mark for Singletary following up his career rushing day would be a return from Dameon Pierce to the Texans’ backfield. In the eight games both RBs have played this season, Singletary has only seen more than 50% of snaps twice and never had more than half of the RB carries. There’s a chance that Singletary gets the nod to lead the backfield for Houston given his recent performance, and that’s a wave I’d be willing to ride again in Week 11.
De’Von Achane – Miami Dolphins, RB
Weeks 1-5 | ||
Carries | Rushing Yards | TDs |
38 | 460 | 5 |
You can just hear in Jason’s voice how excited he is for the return of De’Von Achane to the Dolphins’ lineup, and he just may get his wish this week against the Raiders. Achane went on an absolute tear from Weeks 3-5 before being injured, finishing as the RB1, RB4, and RB4 while averaging a ridiculous 31.9 fantasy points over that stretch. While it probably isn’t fair for fantasy managers to expect the rookie to return to their lineups and contribute to that same level, Achane has the skill set that doesn’t require a ton of opportunities to still produce rewarding fantasy output.
If there’s a matchup to return for, getting the Raiders at home is like a five-star chef cooking for Achane this week. The Dolphins have a team-implied 30 points to be scored this week and have hit that mark in every single home game this season. Despite his absence over the last month, if Achane is healthy he needs to be in your fantasy lineup.
Noah Brown – Houston Texans, WR
Week 10 | ||
Receptions | Receiving Yards | TDs |
7 | 172 | 0 |
Well, if you were like me and didn’t believe that Noah Brown could follow up his WR2 finish in Week 9 with anything relevant you were wrong. Brown followed up his career-high receiving week by setting a new career-high with 172 yards. Over the last three weeks, Brown has played at least 72% of snaps and is seeing a 19% target share, and two of those games came with Nico Collins still playing.
The Texans’ offense is flat-out humming and there are more juicy matchups coming for the Houston passing game to take advantage of, so I’d expect Brown to continue to have an opportunity to contribute for fantasy managers. Currently, Houston’s offense has the fourth-most passing yards in the league and the third-highest yards per attempt. As long as Brown continues to find the field, he’ll have the opportunity to be a flex play going forward.
Joshua Dobbs – Minnesota Vikings, QB
Week 10 | ||
Passing | Passing Yards | TDs |
23/34 | 268 | 1 |
A bonus selection from me this week since The Fantasy Hitman is out is Joshua Dobbs. Dobbs registered his third-straight QB7 or better finish in a row in Week 10, setting a career-high in passing yards and yards per attempt in a game. What’s been the most valuable asset for Dobbs when it comes to fantasy is the 36 yards per game he’s averaging on the ground this season. In games where Dobbs has finished inside the top-10 QBs, he’s averaged 45 rushing yards compared to the 28 rushing he’s averaging when he finishes outside the top-10.
When you consider that Dobbs is about to get back one of the best WRs in football with Justin Jefferson’s return looming, he really could be a league winner for fantasy managers searching to fix any QB problems down the stretch of the season.
