With the season drawing to an end, European glory will be on the minds of six different clubs across the continent.
Tammy Abraham is one player who is no stranger to such success on the big stage and he could go one step further on Wednesday night.
Victory for Roma in the Europa League final against Sevilla will see him become the first player to win all three current European trophies after his Champions League and Europa Conference League triumphs.
Abraham will engrave his name in football history with such an achievement, and he’d reach it within just three seasons.
The 25-year-old’s efforts across continental football began at Chelsea in their Champions League success during the 2020/21 campaign.
After a turbulent festive period under Frank Lampard the Blues decided to sack the club legend and bring in Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea had already secured their spot in the knockout stages, with Abraham scoring once and assisting twice in Group E.
He failed to play any further minutes from the Round of 16 onwards, though, with Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud being preferred options up front under Tuchel.
Abraham was also omitted from the squad that beat Manchester City 1-0 in the enthralling final in Porto, with Havertz scoring the winner.
However, given his appearances earlier in the tournament, Abraham was able to get his hands on the coveted trophy, and receive one of 40 winner’s medals.
Super Cup success would follow in August before he signed for Roma, a move that would be prove to be hugely beneficial for him.
The Italian outfit, led by the legendary Jose Mourinho, competed in the inaugural Europa Conference League last season.
Qualification out of the group stages was relatively straightforward for them as they finished top on 13 points ahead of Bodo/Glimt.
Abraham scored six times in as many games before they ventured into the knockout stages.
The striker found the back of the net once in each of Roma’s round of 16, quarter-final and semi-final second leg clashes against Vitesse, Bodo/Glimt and Leicester respectively.
Feyenoord would be their opponents in the final in the Albanian capital of Tirana, with Nicolo Zaniolo’s goal securing a 1-0 win against the Dutch side.
Abraham started and played the majority of the clash that saw Roma win their first European honour since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1961.
They’re now in their second consecutive continental final and will be desperate to take the crown off Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, it will be far from easy to do so as they face a Sevilla side who have the most titles in Europa League history with six.
The Spanish side also beat Manchester United and Juventus en route to the final, two of the biggest clubs in European football.
Abraham has scored just once in the Europa League this season but is likely to be named in the starting XI on Wednesday night.
Victory in Budapest would see him secure a European hat-trick, although two other players could do the same this season.
West Ham’s Emerson will match him should the Hammers win the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan doing the same if Inter Milan beat City in the Champions League final.
However, Abraham will be go down in history as the first player to assert such dominance in European football, with the forward just one win away from glory.
And the most decorated man in football – Lionel Messi – is unlikely to ever replicate it having only one the Champions League – amateur!
