Dynasty Fantasy Football: Assessing Rosters for Week 16

Here is to hoping you made it to the second round in your dynasty playoffs! If you can still make moves, you may target some of these players to help you advance to the championship! If you are rebuilding, I still have some players for you to try to target to help accrue value and future fantasy points. Let’s look at some dynasty trade targets for contenders and rebuilding teams.

Contenders: Trade Targets

Isiah Pacheco

After missing the previous two weeks due to an injury, Isiah Pacheco is set to return in Week 16 in a matchup against the Raiders, a juicy matchup for Pacheco. The last time he played the Raiders, in Week 12, he ran for 55 yards and had two rushing touchdowns, finishing as the RB4 on the week. He then gets the Bengals in championship week, which is also a fantastic matchup. Pacheco is arguably a top-15 dynasty running back and can help teams win a championship this season, but he should also be expected to be a factor for the next two or three seasons. Running backs risk getting replaced year-to-year, but I don’t foresee that happening in Kansas City. They have to worry about getting some wide receivers first.

Chuba Hubbard

Recently, Chuba Hubbard has taken over the starting role for the Panthers over Miles Sanders and has played well. Hubbard has three straight games with over 20 carries and 80+ yards rushing against tough run defenses. He now gets the Packers and Jaguars in the next two weeks and could potentially have some big games as an RB2 on your team. The biggest problem is that his scoring upside could be better because the Panthers’ offense, in general, has been rough all season. Hubbard won’t catch many passes, but he can get a few receptions. Hubbard is valued around the RB37 in dynasty and can be a cheap option for running back help if needed. I would not invest much into him because he could be irrelevant next season.

David Njoku

If you need tight end help, look no further than David Njoku, who has been on a tear with Joe Flacco at quarterback. Njoku has 20+ fantasy points in two straight weeks with 90+ yards and a touchdown in both games. Njoku’s stock has likely risen over the last couple of weeks, but he has been solid all year and is the fourth most targeted tight end this season. It does seem like Njoku’s value is a rollercoaster of hype and disappointment, but in a volatile position, I think he is worth the shot at his current value. He could rise to a top-12 dynasty tight end again.

Rebuilding Teams: Trade Targets

Bijan Robinson

Here we are with another buy-low opportunity for an Atlanta Falcons skill position player. What happens in that offense is criminal, but buying talent in a dynasty is always smart. Situations and coaching staff can change, and I expect changes to come to the Falcons sooner rather than later. Bijan is uber-talented and proved he can live up to the hype he had this past offseason. Under the right coach, he can be a dominant running back for years. He currently sits as the RB12 on the year despite Atlanta’s shenanigans. Bijan could be expensive in your dynasty league, but it’s well worth the shot because there will be managers who want to dip because they fear he may never reach his potential. Bijan is currently the dynasty RB1 on KeepTradeCut.com, so I realize the market still values him highly, but it won’t hurt to try to see if someone would like to move on, especially if they need production in the fantasy playoffs and are scared to start Bijan.

Chris Olave

It’s been a disappointing fantasy season for Chris Olave. He is currently the WR23 on the year but did miss Week 15 due to injury. Olave is also in danger of missing Week 16 on a short week, as they play the Rams on Thursday Night Football. There is some urgency to this one, as a fantasy manager with Olave on their team may need some help (I can relate to this, but I have a trade deadline). Olave is currently valued as the dynasty WR8, and I predict he will stay around that valuation for many years. He is a dynamic playmaker who demands a high number of targets. You have to make that move if you can get any discount on Olave.

Michael Pittman

One of the more underrated wide receivers in dynasty leagues is Michael Pittman. He is currently valued as the WR17 in dynasty, but he is the clear first option in the Colts’ offense and is one of the most heavily targeted wide receivers in the NFL (second among wide receivers). Anthony Richardson looked like the real deal when he was on the field in his first few games as an NFL player. The worry was Richardson would limit Pittman’s upside due to passing accuracy concerns, but Richardson looked NFL-ready. I cannot wait to see Pittman and Richardson work together for years to come, and Pittman is near his floor in dynasty value. I expect his value to increase as he consistently produces fantasy points.
