Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone was called out for a lack of class after the 2-2 with Celtic in the Champions League.
Simeone’s side came from behind twice against the Scottish giants and finished the game with ten men after Rodrigo De Paul’s red card.
At the full-time whistle, Simeone appeared to be gesturing towards the officials and complaining, while Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers waited for a handshake.
Eventually noticing Rodgers, Simeone barely acknowledged the Northern Irishman and awkwardly tapped his hand before heading straight down the tunnel.
The Argentine has a deep-rooted reputation for such antics and many football fans felt it was another example of a classless attitude.
One supporter wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Wouldn’t know what sportsmanship was if it hit him in the face.”
Another said: “Zero class. Sums up him and his team.”
A third put: “As always, very disrespectful.”
Simeone was complimentary of Celtic in his post-match interview, admitting the dominant Hoops caused his side multiple problems.
“As expected, they started really well, as they did in their first two games,” he said.
“We really struggled to contain them early on and they scored with their first attack. We managed to respond but they quickly scored a fantastic goal.
“The first half didn’t go as we would have liked but I was really pleased with the second half, it was a real Champions League performance. We showed a lot of personality and responsibility.”
