The bye week did the Bucs some good as they came into Week 6 much healthier than before. Only one player listed on Wednesday’s injury report did not practice at all, and that was wide receiver Mike Evans. We’ll see as the week goes on if Evans can fully recover in time from his hamstring injury to play this Sunday against the Lions in a pivotal matchup.
There were a lot of duplicating injuries for the Bucs. Evans and inside linebacker SirVocea Dennis and cornerback Derrek Pitts all had hamstring injuries while right tackle Luke Goedeke and defensive tackle Calijah Kancey are dealing with calf injuries. Both safety Ryan Neal and outside linebacker Anthony Nelson were listed with a concussion, but each player fully participated.
Inside linebacker Devin White and cornerback Jamel Dean were the lone players dealing with their own injuries. White is dealing with a foot issue and Dean is trying to work his way back after missing Week 4 with a neck and shoulder problem. Both players were full participants.
Having nine players on the injury report isn’t ideal, but the Lions had one more on theirs with 10 and many of their players didn’t practice. That included talented rookies Brian Branch and Jahmyr Gibbs amongst many others. The Lions’ best wide receiver is Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has been great this season but missed last week, was limited during their practice.
