Thursday provides us with a solid slate of NHL action to get us primed for the weekend. There are 7 games on the board, with nearly each one in the early time slot. There looks to be some close games, along with some blowouts expected. If you’d rather not take the risk on an even matchup or pay the hefty price for a mismatch, we’ve got you covered. We’ve targeted individual skaters rather than worrying about their team winning or not.
Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.
Sam Reinhart over 0.5 assists (-+110)
The Florida Panthers have been all about Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov, and rightfully so. The initial thought here was indeed Barkov, but there is still concern he may not play his full ice time. He left the Panthers most recent game early with an injury after blocking a shot. The team announced he should be good to go, but we’re going to keep things a bit safer with Reinhart. He’s a linemate with Barkov, which is already good news. Reinhart may not get the recognition of the likes of Tkachuk, but he is a pivotal part of this strong Florida offense.
His 39 points in 53 games are nothing to scoff at and he’s enjoyed facing the San Jose Sharks. In Reinhart’s 3 games against them as a Panther, he’s recorded 3 points. That trend should continue, given that the Sharks have allowed the 2nd-most points this calendar year and the 4th-most overall this season. The Panthers offense seems to have found a rhythm as well, recently putting up 7 goals against the Tampa Bay Lightning and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. Florida gets to remain in South Beach for tonight’s game, and Reinhart should be partying by night’s end.

Leon Draisaitl over 1.5 points (+135)
A much more familiar name would be Leon Draisaitl. He and Connor McDavid are common targets for us, and given tonight’s matchups, we’re headed back there again. There aren’t the best contests elsewhere, but Draisaitl and the Oilers get to face a struggling Philadelphia Flyers team. Even if they weren’t facing the 2nd-worst team in the Eastern Conference, Edmonton has been steadily improving. Draisaitl and company have scored the most goals per game in 2023 and the 3rd-most on the road.
They’ll be in Philly tonight, where the Flyers allow the 8th-most goals per game. While Draisaitl gets overlooked due to McDavid, his 76 points are still the 2nd-most in the NHL. Skating alongside McDavid obviously gives him more scoring opportunities, and the Oilers have even combined that duo with the now-healthy Evander Kane. That’s their version of a perfection line, which should help Draisaitl bounce back from a rare pointless night. Prior to that, he had recorded multiple points in 5 of his last 7 games. That’s also been the case in 3 of his last 5 games against the Flyers, and we’re expecting him to take off in Philly tonight.
