All City Adds Phillies Writer

Sports media news:

Foley runs the popular @2008Philz Twitter account and Substack. Pagan had John on Crossing Broadcast a few months ago when I was either off or sick with the Bubonic Plague, or whatever my kids brought home from preschool that particular week.

But yeah, All City needed a Phillies beat writer in a big way, and this is seems like a solid, outside-the-box type of hire. Most of their initial staff is comprised of people who were pulled from other Philadelphia outlets, but this is different and unique. Up until this point, their Phillies podcast/YouTube show has been handled by Renee Washington and Jamie Lynch, and the writing shared by Charlie O’Connor and a freelancer named Jake Kring-Schreifels.

This hire also makes me laugh, because Foley and Matt Gelb teamed up for the best Twitter exchange of the summer. If I’m Phillies PR, I seat them next to each other in the press box, just for shits and giggles:
