With the widespread belief that Tiger Woods will return to competitive golf at this week’s Masters Tournament, we look at the available betting options, odds, picks, and best bets.
Never short of excitement, Masters Week will have a deafening buzz this year with anticipation of Tiger Woods’ return to PGA Tour tournament play.
Woods Tweeted on Saturday morning that he will practice and prepare at Augusta National Golf Club this week before making a “game-time decision” on whether he plays in his first PGA Tour event since the 2020 Masters. Tiger has been away from competitive golf while recovering from a serious car accident in February 2021.
A winner of five green jackets, Woods will attempt to tie Jack Nicklaus with a sixth win at Augusta National. He’ll also try to break a tie with Sam Snead with a record 83rd PGA Tour win. Additionally, Woods, 46, would break Nicklaus’ record as the oldest Masters winner.
Although he has fallen to No. 973 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) in his time away from golf, fans and bettors alike know we can never say never with Woods, especially at Augusta. With this in mind, we look at the odds and betting options centered around Tiger at the Masters, and make our top picks and best bets.
Tiger Woods’ History at the Masters
Woods is one win shy of Nicklaus’ tournament record of six wins at the Masters. His most recent victory at Augusta National was in 2019, 15 years after his fourth green jacket win in 2005.
Of all golfers with more than one appearance at the Masters, Woods’ average of 2.78 total strokes gained on the field per round ranks second to Jordan Spieth. Tiger hasn’t missed the cut in the Masters since 1996, his second appearance in the event. He followed up that disappointment with victory in 1997.
He has nine top-10 finishes in addition to his five wins at Augusta National. Aside from the missed cut in 1996, his worst finish in 23 appearances was a T-41 in his 1995 tournament debut, in which he was the low amateur.

Will Tiger Woods Win the Masters?
While nearly everyone watching and betting on the Masters this week will be rooting internally for Woods to win the Masters, set records, and miraculously return from injury, it's a tall order. The 2.44% win probability implied by the +4000 odds at DraftKings is exceptionally misleading. Those odds, which are better than those for the likes of Sam Burns, Louis Oosthuizen, and Matt Fitzpatrick, do not offer nearly enticing enough of a payout. The +8000 odds at PointsBet, however, are far more intriguing.
While the odds are the same as those for Tony Finau, who ranks 22nd in the OWGR, it is the best price we're being offered on what would be one of the greatest sports stories of the year. Tiger, who was recently inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, wouldn't be participating this week if he didn't believe he had a true chance to contend.
Bet on Woods to win the Masters if you want to join the fray, just be sure to do it with PointsBet.
