Eden Hazard faces another injury setback, after it was confirmed that he will undergo another ankle surgery.
The Real Madrid winger will have a plate removed in his right leg, which was put in after he broke his ankle in March 2020.
A statement by the club read: “In the coming days, our player, Eden Hazard, will undergo surgery to remove the osteosynthesis plate in his right fibula.”
The Belgian has failed to live up to expectations since his £98million move to Madrid from Chelsea in 2019.
He has made just 65 appearances and struggled to find his best form due to numerous injury problems, stopping him from showing the form he did in the Premier League.
And he is set for another spell on the sidelines, with Radio Marca reporting that he will out for around a month.
This will rule him out of a return to face his former club in the Champions League quarter-finals next month, when Real take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
With the likes of Vinicius Junior impressing at the Bernabeu and talks that Kylian Mbappe may sign for the club, Hazard’s future at Real remains uncertain, to say the least.
