The NBA Finals are set for tipoff as the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics prepare for battle.
The Warriors have returned to the top of the Western Conference after some time away. Now, Steph Curry and company are aiming to knock off the Eastern Conference champion Celtics. The Celtics have not won the NBA title since 2008 with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce leading the charge.
It is difficult to believe the Golden State dynasty ended in 2019. The Warriors have not won the NBA title since 2018, and for the past two seasons, watched the Los Angeles Lakers run the Western Conference.
How did we get to the NBA Finals 2022?
The Golden State Warriors will face off with the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals 2022. The finals series will begin on Thursday, June 2. This will be the sixth NBA Finals for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green in eight NBA seasons.
The Warriors reached the finals by eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference finals in five games. Boston went to seven games with the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed, the Miami Heat.
Golden State had a regular-season record of 53-29 and finished third in the West. The Celtics ended the NBA season 51-31 and second in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics knocked out reigning NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, in the quarterfinals before eliminating the No. 1 Heat.

Have Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics H2H
The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics met twice in the regular season. The game played at TD Gardens saw the Warriors win 111-107. The second game played in San Francisco ended as a Celtics win 110-88.
Both teams show they could go to the other’s home court and win. However, doing that in the NBA Finals is far more difficult than in the regular season.

NBA Finals 2022 Pick
The Celtics are underdogs to win the series. This makes them underdogs to also win Game 1 in San Francisco. Keep in mind that the Celtics defied the odds to overcome the Bucks and Heat in the Eastern Conference.
Robert Williams and Marcus Smart are carrying injuries, which could greatly affect them in the finals. Gary Payton II, Andre Iguodala, and Otto Porter Jr. are all battling their own fitness issues. As long as Steve Kerr has Steph Curry, the Warriors will feel that this is their NBA Finals to lose.
The Warriors have returned to the team we saw just a few years ago. This is Golden State’s sixth NBA Finals in eight years. It is the Celtics’ first NBA Finals appearance since 2010. The Celtics simply do not have the weapons that Golden State possesses. This will ultimately lead to the Warriors winning the NBA Finals.
