MLB Wednesday mega parlay (+1005 odds) today 9/14: Luis Castillo putting Mariners on his back

We are continuing the week in Major League Baseball with a full 15-game slate on Wednesday. As usual, there are plenty of Wednesday afternoon games with plenty of teams set to travel for new series later in the week. Today’s schedule is headlined by another Yankees-Red Sox showdown after New York prevailed in extra innings on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Brewers and Cardinals are colliding in a crucial National League Central contest at 7:45 pm ET on FS1.

Here is today’s mega parlay:

Mariners -1.5 (+145)

Orioles -1.5 (+120)

Rays ML (+105)

Parlay odds: +1005

For this parlay we are going with two favorites on the run line and one underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Mariners -1.5 over Padres (+145)

Luis Castillo, whom the Mariners acquired from Cincinnati prior to the trade deadline, will be toeing the rubber on Wednesday. He has been everything they had hoped for and then some. Since being acquired by Seattle, Castillo has a 2.70 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. All 3 of his starts at T–Mobile Park have been outstanding, to the tune of a 1.83 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP. As for the Mariners’ offense, they scored 15 runs against the Braves in their previous series while taking 2 out of 3 games and were impressive even against Charlie Morton and Max Fried. San Diego is countering with Mike Clevinger, who has feasted on sub-.500 teams but has been far worse against tough opposition. Well, Seattle is tough opposition. Castillo and company should roll to a home win.

Orioles -1.5 over Nationals (+120)

It’s a Patrick Corbin day for the Nationals. Needless to say, that is bad news for them and great news for the Orioles. Even though Baltimore has flailed for the most part against left-handers all year long, the lineup should have no trouble getting on track against Corbin. The struggling veteran is 3-10 in hist last 15 starts and is putting up a 6.00 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP. Baltimore will start right-hander Tyler Wells. His work has been limited in recent months, but the O’s can afford to ease Wells and let him throw limited innings because their bullpen ranks 7th in ERA on the season. The Orioles are still within range of the playoffs – which they haven’t reached since 2016. They have plenty of motivation and will likely capitalize on a matchup with Corbin.

Rays ML over Blue Jays (+105)

This is an awesome pitching matchup between Drew Rasmussen of the Rays and Ross Stripling of the Blue Jays. There isn’t anything bad to say about Stripling, so this is all about tailing Tampa Bay as opposed to fading Toronto. Rasmussen has quite simply been the best pitcher in baseball since the all-star break. In 9 starts since then he is sporting a 1.62 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. Rasmussen’s most recent outing was especially dominant, as he went into Yankee Stadium and hurled 6.0 scoreless innings while yielding only 6 hits and striking out 10 batters. He has made 9 straight starts without allowing more than 2 runs. One of his first starts in the second half of the season was against the Blue Jays, whom he held to 1 run on 6 hits in 6.0 innings. Tampa Bay also has a slight bullpen advantage, so at plus money this is a strong play.
