Jaylen Brown On Team Meeting: ‘We Have All the Motivation in the World’

The Boston Celtics haven’t come this far just to come this far.

After blowing consecutive games to grab control of the NBA Finals, the Celtics are in some familiar territory after going down 3-2 against a championship team.

“Everything has been a learning experience,” Jaylen Brown said during his media availability. “We wear everything that we learned this year as a badge of honor that we kind of wear. We don’t let it hang over our heads. We bounce back. We’ve been able to respond well all year.”

Boston was able to do it against the Bucks, winning in Game 7. They blew a Game 6 against Miami but outlasted the Heat and won Game 7 to advance to their first Finals since 2010. The Celtics have their backs up against the wall once again but seem to have the confidence that they can take Thursday’s Game 6 in TD Garden and force a winner-take-all Game 7 back in San Francisco.

With one more home game left for Brown and the Celtics, the 2021 All-Star told reporters the Celtics addressed everything that needed to be said and that Boston has the win-or-go-home mindset to take Game 6. Most importantly, Boston doesn’t want to see Golden State win their fourth title on the TD Garden parquet floor.

“We have all the motivation in the world,” Brown said.

“It’s been addressed today. We already had that mindset. We know what’s at stake,” said Brown. He added: “Come out on our home floor and leave it all out there.”

“We’re looking forward to the challenge,” Brown said per YahooSports. ” We got to embrace it. Ain’t no other way around it. Last game on our home floor to kind of embody our whole season. We’re looking to give it everything we got. We are not scared. We do not fear the Golden State Warriors. We want to come out and play the best version of basketball that we can.”

“We know it’s a good team over there. We know they’ve done it before. But we have all the belief in ourselves. We’re going to come out and leave it all out there. That’s the whole intent.”

Brown has scored 21.4 points per game in the Finals, scoring a personal-high 27 in Boston’s Game 3 win over Golden State.
