Jalen Hurts was a bit erratic to start the Chicago game. Couple of bad interceptions and some missed throws. It was cold and windy out there, so this postgame quote probably should not come as a surprise:
Jalen Hurts says the wind and cold affected him and his hands were numb at the beginning of the game and he didn’t have good vision
“I’ve never played in anything that cold”
January games at the Linc could be cold

Underrated story, these SEC guys coming into the NFL and playing in cold-as-balls midwestern markets. Yeah, I know Jalen spent that year at Oklahoma, but even then the coldest place he had to play was Kansas State in late October. That’s not exactly Soldier Field one week before Christmas. And the coldest game the Birds played last year was probably Denver in November or New York in December. This was probably the toughest environment temperature wise Hurts has had to deal with.
We did that story earlier in the year, the first week in October when it was rainy and shitty at Lincoln Financial Field and a mic’d up DeVonta Smith was wearing three jackets on the sideline. I went through his entire college game log and he didn’t play any further north than Columbia, Missouri, or Knoxville, Tennessee. That’s crazy to me, how Alabama never played true non-conference road games. They always did the neutral site stuff in Atlanta or whatever to open the year.
These guys will get used to NFL weather, I’m sure, but you do wonder what it’s gonna be like when we get to the divisional round at Lincoln Financial Field in January and it’s 20 degrees out there. Get these guys some hand warmers and a scarf.
