Friday’s MLB Best Bet

Rangers -1.5 (+150)

The Rangers came out swinging after the All-Star break, defeating the Marlins 8-0 on Thursday. This is nothing new with the Rangers’ lineup, which ranks in the top 10 of MLB over the last 30 days in terms of wRC+. Spencer Howard’s statistics are very underwhelming, but I like the +150 price point we’re getting here on the run line.

Friday’s UFC Best Bet

Pimblett By KO/TKO (+240)

Paddy “The Baddy” should continue his ascent up the lightweight mountain on Saturday night. A burgeoning superstar in the U.K., Pimblett is the superior striker, landing almost three times as many significant strikes per minute than Leavitt. He’s also displayed pure knockout power and has a tendency to polish off his opponents inside the distance, racking up 14 finishes in his 18 career victories. This is definitely a favorable matchup for the Brit, who should be able to starch Leavitt with something vicious at some point in the first two rounds.

Friday’s NASCAR Best Bet

Blaney (+1200)

Blaney earned his first-ever Cup Series win at Pocono Raceway. He did so by holding off Kevin Harvick. Though Blaney is yet to return to victory lane in the Poconos, he needs a win now more than ever, and we’re getting him at a bit of a discount following his dismal performance at New Hampshire.

The 28-year-old phenom finished sixth and fifth in last year’s double-header at Pocono. He didn’t lead a lap in either race, but he kept his car up front and in contention. Further, he owns the third-best average finish this season at 12.2 and has led the sixth-most laps.

Blaney has led at all but one of our comparison tracks this season. He finished sixth or better in two of those races, too. He may need some good fortune to help him win, but the No. 12 team should make some aggressive decisions to help their driver secure a playoff spot. With Blaney at +1000 on most books, head to Caesars for the best value.

Friday’s NFL Best Bet

Bears Over 6.5 Wins (+125)

The 6.5 total has remained the same since opening as it seems like an achievable win total threshold for Chicago. Last season, a lot of things went wrong yet the Bears still finished with six wins. As previously stated, a lot of their success will come down to how their young stars at key positions perform.

One factor that may push bettors towards taking the Over is Chicago’s fairly favorable strength of schedule. Yes, they play the Packers and the Vikings twice each but they also play the Lions twice along with a few other beatable teams such as the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, and the Houston Texans. The +125 price point on FanDuel represents good value.

Friday’s NCAAF Best Bet

Mississippi Under 7.5 Regular-Season Wins (+140)

Last season was a banner year for Ole Miss, as it won 10 regular-season games for the first time in program history. It was also its first time ending a campaign with 10 wins (including bowl games) since 2015.

The Rebels arguably have the most variability of all the teams in the SEC, given how much they are relying on transfers to fill holes. Aside from losing one of the best quarterbacks in school history and 10 other starters, Ole Miss replaces its play-callers on both sides of the ball, as Jeff Lebby is now the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma and D.J. Durkin is the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.

With so many new faces on the coaching staff and the field, Ole Miss can be anywhere from a five- to 10-win team. However, the most significant difference will be the drop-off at quarterback after losing Corral, and there are too many holes defensively to be as competitive as last year.
