Tottenham manager Antonio Conte joked he skipped to the end of Arsenal’s ‘All Or Nothing’ documentary to watch Spurs beat their rivals to fourth spot.
Conte’s side travel to the Emirates on Saturday for this season’s first instalment of the north London derby – live on talkSPORT.
Tottenham can leapfrog the Gunners at the top of the Premier League table – but last time they met, fourth place was the target.
Arsenal were in the driving seat for Champions League qualification during the 2021/22 campaign, before a late collapse which started at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the penultimate week.
Mikel Arteta’s side would then slip to defeat at Newcastle, allowing Spurs to clinch fourth by two points.
The dramatic finale was captured in Arsenal’s ‘All Or Nothing’ documentary, which Conte was asked about on Thursday.
He said: “To be honest I didn’t finish watching it but for sure in the future I will finish this documentary.
“I did the same with Tottenham, Manchester City and Juventus because I’m really curious to understand the way to manage the situation for the coach.
“I think it was really, really interesting, but Arsenal documentary I started, but didn’t finish but in the future for sure I will finish. I think it’s positive because this documentary shows behind the scenes. Sometimes I think it’s positive to bring us out of our world.”
One journalist suggested Conte would enjoy the ending, which amused the Tottenham boss and drew a funny response.
“I watched that episode, yeah,” Conte said while laughing.
During the Amazon series, Arteta delivered a furious rant to his side at St James’ Park and admitted they were hoping for Norwich to beat Spurs on the final day.
“It does not matter what I say. It does not matter what you say. Now it’s too late,” Arteta said.
“They were 10,000 times better than us today, in everything. We did not earn the right to play, we did not win a f****** duel, we didn’t win a second ball, we were horrible with the f****** ball and we had no organisation, we had nothing. Nothing.
“So now shut your mouth and eat it. We could have conceded eight goals. If you see the chances you will cry. You will cry at the way that we have competed. Not the way we have competed, we did not compete at all in the game.
“It is f******embarrassing to come here the way we have done it. Embarrassing. What happened today is f****** unacceptable and if you accept something like this, you live in a different world.
“Don’t worry, I will face the people. Today it is hard to defend you guys. Hard. I will take all the s***, again.
“Don’t worry… But be prepared to start training to beat Everton because we have our fans there. You never know what happens in football they (Tottenham) might lose at Norwich, you don’t know.”
