The 100th edition of Wimbledon concluded this past weekend on Centre Court. First on the docket was the women’s final on Saturday. Shockingly it did not include Iga Swiatek, who had her 37-match winning streak end.
Swiatek lost in the third round in a stunning upset to Alize Cornet. She just didn’t have it in a 3-6, 2-6 loss after requiring three sets to make it past Lesley Pattinama.
Because Wimbledon is not connected to the WTA and ATP, points are not awarded on Centre Court. Rybakina would have jumped from No. 23 to likely just inside the top-10 with a grand slam on her resume.

The highest-ranked woman at the Lausanne Ladies Open is Danielle Collins at No. 8. Collins had a quick stay at Wimbledon following an upset against Marie Bouzkova in three sets. She will look to bounce back with Belinda Bencic looming on the clay at the Swiss Open. Check out the best 2022 WTA Swiss Open odds below.
Swiss Open Betting Odds
The WTA Swiss Open odds at Lausanne might come as a minor surprise. Danielle Collins has the highest ranking on the WTA Tour, but she is not the Ladies Open Lausanne odds favorite.
Is her current form enough to warrant having the best Swiss Open odds, though? If you look at what she has accomplished as of late, or lack thereof, you start to understand why Collins isn’t getting that much love from the oddsmakers.
Collins needs a smaller tournament to perhaps get some confidence back in her game. She was disappointing at the French Open and Wimbledon. After crashing out of the French Open in the second round, she didn’t play any prep tournament in between. Probably not for the best.
After Collins on the WTA Swiss Open odds board, there is a drop-off in talent to Irina-Camelia Begu and Sara Sorribes Tormo. It’s likely a tournament between Bencic and Collins at Lausanne.

WTA Swiss Open Prediction
Danielle Collins (+500)
Danielle Collins has been off the mark since reaching the quarterfinals at the Miami Open. She won four matches, including over Ons Jabeur 6-2, 6-4, but a loss to Naomi Osaka started a big slide.
She lost in the Madrid Open in the second round to Bianca Andreescu, 1-6, 1-6, and the second match is the furthest she’s made it in four straight tournaments.
Collins lost to unseeded Amanda Anisimova at the Italian Open, Shelby Rogers at the French Open, and then most recently to Marie Bouzkova in the first match at Wimbledon.
Considering how poorly she’s been playing, it probably would have been better for Collins to enter a prep tournament between the French Open and Wimbledon. The Swiss Open maybe does her well, but I prefer where Belinda Bencic is heading.
Belinda Bencic (+250)
Bencic doesn’t have much to talk about after she had little to offer at Wimbledon as well. She fell out of Wimbledon at the same time as Collins in the first round.
Bencic is on her home court for the Swiss Open. A native of Flawil, Switzerland, this is a big tournament in her eyes.
Prior to losing at Wimbledon, Bencic went the distance to reach the final round at the Grass Court Championships in Berlin. Bencic ultimately lost to the No. 1 seed, Ons Jabeur, who just went to the final at Wimbledon.
Currently, Collins is limited by her confidence, and I don’t have the most confidence backing her in Switzerland. I’m giving Bencic the nod in front of the home crowd in Lausanne. Her WTA Swiss Open odds are generous enough at +250 to consider.
