2022 The Match Golf Odds and Predictions

The sixth edition of The Match is scheduled for Wednesday at the Wynn Golf Club at Wynn Las Vegas. TheSportsGeek has the best The Match golf odds at online sportsbooks for this event between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes vs. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

This started as Tiger vs. Phil back in 2018 at Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas. The winner-take-all event was a $9 million head-to-head competition. Since then, the idea has taken off with different matchups of The Match.

Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning beat Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in the next The Match at Medalist Golf Club in Florida. Brady has been in The Match twice, with both resulting in losses.

Brady and Steph Curry lost to Mickelson and Charles Barkley at Stone Canyon in Arizona in his second attempt. It can’t feel good losing to Barkley in golf even though this is an exhibition charity event.

The Match 5 had to be the least exciting, with Brooks Koepka beating Bryson DeChambeau on November 26, 2021. Fans can see Koepka and DeCheambeau most weeks on the PGA Tour. These two in an exhibition match don’t have the same attraction as Woods, Manning, and Brady.

The Match 6 is a contest that will draw plenty of attention. The event is aimed for charity and helping the Feeding America program.

When Is The Match Golf

The Match 2022 is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1 at Wynn Las Vegas. This is the first year that a professional golfer is not involved in the event.

Note that coverage is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m. If you’re looking to watch The Match 6, you can find it on TNT and HLN. Streamers can log in to their Sling TV account to view the sixth edition of The Match.

Wynn Golf Club is open to the public, though it isn’t cheap at $550.00 or more to play a round of golf.

Wynn Las Vegas has its own golf course behind the hotel and casino. The golf course was partially dismantled in 2018 to make way for new development, but reimplemented after the development was scrapped.

Brady is the veteran of The Match with two appearances in this one-day tournament. Rodgers won with Bryson DeChambeau over Mickelson and Brady last June. Now Brady and Rodgers are on the same team.

Rodgers is regarded as the best golfer of the foursome, so no surprise that he and Brady are The Match golf odds favorites. The Match golf betting odds are based on a shamble format.

Not to be confused with scramble golf, in the shamble format, players must play their own ball after the second attempt.

From that point, both players must play their ball on the course. Both golfers are required to finish the hole with the lowest score recorded.

Brady has the experience, but as the best player and a win in this tournament, Rodgers could be the difference at the Wynn on Wednesday. This is a quick shootout, with only 12 holes in the plans for The Match 6.

The Match Golf Predictions

As much as I’d like to see Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes win The Match in 2022, this 12-hole shootout is for Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers to lose.

They both have experience in The Match and have the talent advantage. Mahomes and Brady might be a wash. They rate as similar players, but Rodgers has a clear advantage on Allen.

Allen isn’t a stranger to playing golf, but is the worse golfer if his performance at the 2022 Pebble Beach Pro-Am is any indication. He and Keith Mitchell missed the cut after firing a -15.

That sounds great, but there are huge scores at Pebble beach, and -15 isn’t enough. Allen finished with a handicap of 9.0. That’s worse than Brady and Rodgers.

Rodgers The MVP?
Allen is a stroke off the pace from Brady and not even close to Rodgers, who has a 4.5-shot advantage overall. Rodgers has a 4.6 handicap, easily better than his foes.

Mahomes is a slightly better player than Brady, but the difference is fairly marginal. Brady has the potential to play better on a good day.

Brady posted a video of him hitting a hole-in-one. You can judge whether it’s real or his media team did a good job editing.

The best weapon for Brady in The Match 6 is Rodgers on his team. With Brady and Mahomes pretty even, Brady-Rodgers will have a get a big lift from the Packer at Wynn Golf Course.

The true The Match golf odds are probably closer to -250. You are getting fairly decent value if you can bet Brady-Rodger’s The Match betting odds at better than -200.
