2022 ATP Citi Open Tennis Odds and Predictions

It’s US season on the ATP Tour, as there is another tournament in the United States following ATP Atlanta. Alex de Minaur is coming off a win in straight sets over Jenson Brooksby, 6-3, 6-3. The No. 3 seed got it done after having to battle harder to overcome a first-set loss against Ilya Ivashka in the semifinals.

The road to the US Open is currently underway, with the Citi Open in Washington. TheSportsGeek is looking at the latest Citi Open tennis odds and finding the best bets for the tournament formerly known as the Washington Open.

The Citi Open tennis odds are currently not on the board, but should be up throughout the week at the top tennis betting sites.

You have to look at the right time to find future bets for smaller tournaments. The odds for the US Open have been active for weeks now. Novak Djokovic is not going to be participating after winning Wimbledon. It’s unfortunate that the best player in the world will not be active in the final grand slam of the year.

SOLID FIELD
This isn’t a bad field at the Citi Open. There are some quality players in the field this week. The tournament is underway and there hasn’t been an upset to note so far. These smaller tournaments typically don’t go according to the odds.

Let’s look into the Citi Open odds and who the favorites are for the tournament in Washington. We’ll also provide our best bet and Citi Open predictions.

Citi Open Odds

The Citi Open betting odds may or may not be on the board when you are looking at your sportsbook. The odds to win Citi Open are currently not posted, but I am well aware of who the favorites are in Washington.

RUBLEV THE FAVORITE?
Andrey Rublev has been one of the favorites at a few tournaments this year. He’s never a top contender for a grand slam, but gets attention in mid-tier ATP events.

Rublev is a good player and can be the best when he’s feeling good. However, he tends to get lost on the court against inferior foes after winning a few matches.

He’s hard to regard as the best value on the Citi Open tennis odds board this week.

The Russian is the favorite as the No. 1 seed at Washington. The No. 2 and No. 3 seeds are where I’m looking to bet to win, though. Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Fritz are going to have better value on the Citi Open odds board.

Citi Open Prediction

Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Fritz should have good odds to win the Citi Open. The most recent odds I noticed for Fritz were around +500. Going into the Round of 32, his Citi Open odds should still be in that range.

Fritz should see a challenge from Hurkacz and Reilly Opelka may surprise as well.

At the right odds, it’s hard to fault betting any of them, but I’m leaning towards Fritz who is going along nicely in his development. The 24-year-old is going to go the distance soon for another win in 2022.

Fritz has only three ATP titles, though he’s going to add plenty more through his 20s. Fritz won the Indian Wells Masters in March and then Eastbourne before Wimbledon in late June.

MEMORABLE WIN
It was a groundbreaking win for Fritz, as he defeated legend, Rafael Nadal, in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6. He also had a decent run in him at Wimbledon all the way to the quarterfinals in a rematch against Nadal.

Nadal had Fritz this time, but it was a thriller in five sets. It went down to the last game, with Rafa winning 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-5, 7-6 (10-4). Fritz took some time off following that wild ride.

Prior to Wimbledon, Fritz beat Maxime Cressy in the Eastbourne Final, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6. Going into his opening match at the Citi Open, Fritz has a record of 26-10 and 13-4 on the hard court.

He may not be the top seed or Citi Open tennis odds favorite, but Fritz is at the top of my shortlist. He has the pleasure of avoiding the top players on the ATP Tour in Washington this week. The best value in the Citi Open has to be with Fritz to take this one down over Rublev and Hurkacz.
