Stepping in for Peter Chung this week, here are some of the biggest Start/Sit decisions for Week 4. Let’s identify and discuss the most commonly asked “who should I start?” questions for the week. The Fantasy Footballers have created the Start/Sit tool to easily compare any two (or more) players with insight from the Ballers themselves, and trust me — it’s an extremely valuable asset that will help you make these crucial lineup decisions that could ultimately lead you to your #FootClanTitle.
Please note that the Footballers’ rankings are constantly being updated, so make sure you check out the tool yourself to catch any last-second changes.
FLEX: Tim Patrick or Corey Davis?
What do we do with Chuba? Last week he started out rough but began to get more comfortable as the game wore on against the Texans. Dallas has allowed the most yards per play (8.98) in the NFL and a healthy 25 percent target share to opposing RBs. That’s what we want from Chuba. If he’s 75 percent of what CMC offers at this price, that’s totally doable. After only two carries last week against Dallas, Sanders’ floor seems dangerously low. But the matchup screams play him in a stack opposite Kansas City players. The Chiefs rank dead last in every major DVOA metric and RBs have had a field day against them totaling the 4th most fantasy points. The question is how much passing work could we see from Sanders if the Eagles are in hurry-up mode. Throw out last and remember Sanders saw 20 & 15 opportunities in the first two weeks and averaged almost 18 fantasy points in his three games with Hurts last year. The two can co-exist together.
Verdict: Chuba Hubbard
QB: Kirk Cousins or Ryan Tannehill?
In three weeks, Kirk Cousins is the QB13, QB6, QB6. Now at home against a fierce pass rush, we hope Cousins continues to display efficiency through the air. Tannehill, on the other hand, might be put into cruise control against the Jets. Cousins at home is always tantalizing and I’d choose the game with higher over/under in MIN/CLE.
Verdict: Kirk Cousins
TE: Robert Tonyan or Dawson Knox?
Robert Tonyan is TD-or-bust at this point and he’s seen six total targets in three games. Knox has been surprisingly solid and he’s on a team that we know wants to pass. He’s run the ninth most routes at the tight end position this season. As of late, Knox has seen an increase in snaps. He also scored in back-to-back games. Houston has given up top 10 points to the TE position in each week of this season. Week 4 should be no different.
Verdict: Knox is Mike’s Start of the Week and someone I’d rather roll with.
