Sixers Schedule Has Eleven Back-to-Backs and a Brutal Pre-Christmas Stretch

Full Sixers schedule dropped this afternoon.

Here it is:

Some thoughts:

• That’s an annoying way to open the season. Three out of four on the road, in different parts of the country, with a national TV home opener against Brooklyn in there. At least they get the next four at home.
• That stretch from 11/13 to 12/8 is brutal. Ten of twelve on the road? And then they come out of it with a back-to-back against Utah? Woof.
• No Christmas Day game, so you’re gonna have to actually spend time with your family this year.
• This isn’t a COVID schedule, but there some of those funky two-game series in there. They play two-straight on the road against Charlotte, and a home-and-home with the Knicks at the end of February.
• March is rough. Lakers, Clippers, Suns on the road, then the defending champion Bucks at home, followed by four of the next five on the road.
• At least they get Indy and Detroit to finish out the season at home. Two games they should win.
• By my count, there are eleven back-to-backs on the schedule. That’s about par for the course. My opinion is that there should be zero back-to-backs in the NBA.
