Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane appeared to take a leaf out of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s guidebook for being humble on social media.
The Old Trafford legend showed his softer side with an adorable selfie with his young granddaughter on his hugely popular Instagram page.
Keano only joined the social media platform in February, announcing his arrival with a selfie with his dog which featured an uncharacteristically cheeky grin.
But, despite only posting seven times, he already boasts 1.3million followers.
And, true to form, he’s yet to follow anyone back – not even Micah Richards!
Since then he has celebrated Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day with some brilliant throwback posts and poked fun at the Mamil – that’s ‘middle-aged man in lycra’ – brigade as he set out for a bike ride.
And the former midfielder showed his remarkable wit once again as he posted a nice picture of himself with his granddaughter on Saturday, complete with a hilarious and very understated caption…
“My granddaughter idolises me. I told her to join the queue.”
It’s possible Keano was inspired by former United striker Ibrahimovic, who earlier this week announced ‘the return of the God’ as he ended his international retirement with Sweden.
It’s not the only family photo Keane has shared on Instagram, having posted a brilliant picture holding his grandson, who clearly inherited his granddad’s cold hard stare.
Football fans have loved the content from the former Man United captain, with some leaving messages in the comments that it’s already ‘the best account on Instagram’.
Could he soon rival Liverpool man James Milner as the football king of social media?
Keep them coming, Keano!
