English Premier League matchday 29 features the latest edition of the North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Both teams are on the outside looking in at the top six. A win for either London club would give them renewed hope of finishing in the league’s top four. The North London Derby will be just one of the games over the course of a four-day-long stretch of Premier League games. Let’s take a look at four three being played on Premier League matchday 29 weekend and use the Soccer Buddy Tool to do it.
Fulham vs. Manchester City
Fulham are 18th in the Premier League and nearing the relegation zone exit. The Cottagers have been excellent over the course of their last six games and even shocked Liverpool with a 1-0 away win last weekend.
Despite their excellent form and the potential to leave the relegation zone with a victory, Fulham are playing the Premier League’s leader, Manchester City. The Cityzens are 14 points ahead of Manchester United, their nearest rival in the title race.
Manchester City are coming off of a 5-2 win over Southampton which saw Riyad Mahrez score twice. Although Manchester City’s defensive weaknesses are starting to show their faces again, they should get a win versus Fulham and remain at least 14 points ahead of their nearest rival.
Result: Manchester City win
Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur go into the game on Sunday versus Arsenal on a three-game winning streak in the Premier League. Spurs won 2-0 against Arsenal earlier this season when the teams met at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Arsenal have not defeated Tottenham Hotspur in their last five games in all competitions. Spurs are on a two-game winning streak versus Arsenal. Confidence will be high that they can claim a third straight win versus their London rival.
The Gunners are blowing hot and cold at the moment. They won just two of their last six league matches, scoring nine times and conceding eight. Tottenham Hotspur have not won at the Emirates in the league since the 2010-11 season. Although Tottenham Hotspur are in better form, it is difficult to believe they will break their winless streak against the Gunners.
Result: Arsenal win or draw
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Liverpool
Reigning league champions Liverpool are in horrendous form. The Reds lost five of their last six games in the league and are second to bottom in the current form table. They are coming off of a Wednesday night Champions League last 16 second-leg win over RB Leipzig.
There is hope the Reds can win the Champions League as there is no chance of lifting the league title again. Liverpool are fighting to make the top four and qualification to the Champions League for next season looks impossible. Seven points separate Liverpool from fourth-place Chelsea.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are 12th and unbeaten in five of their last six league games. Wolves are playing well but not scoring too many goals. Just five were tallied over the course of those last six games while six goals were conceded.
Wolves lost 4-0 to Liverpool earlier this season. However, with Liverpool’s goalscoring issues at the moment, that scoreline won’t be replicated. Monday night’s game should be rather close and it could even finish in a score draw — that is how bad Liverpool have been recently.
Result: Liverpool to win or draw
