Premier League 2021-22 Preview

The Premier League 2021-22 kicks off on Friday, August 13 when newly-promoted Brentford plays Arsenal. The new season will welcome fans back into the stadium, making for incredible atmospheres that were missing last term.

Premier League 2021-22 outright winner prediction

As the odds indicate, there are really only four teams capable of winning the league ahead of the new campaign. Manchester City is certainly the favorite to lift the trophy. At the moment, Pep Guardiola’s team hasn’t been added to, but that could change in the coming weeks. Harry Kane could arrive from Tottenham and Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. Kane would make this team extremely dangerous on all fronts.

Manchester United signed Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, yet the club does not have a strategy when building the squad. Rather, Manchester United just buys players. While the team should finish in the top four, Manchester United will fall short of the title.

Liverpool and Chelsea both have shouts at winning the trophy. Liverpool will have defenders Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back to start the season. All three missed most of the campaign with injuries. It will be like having three brand-new players on the team.

Chelsea, on the other hand, won the Champions League last season. They need to add to the squad, but even if manager Thomas Tuchel doesn’t, they will be difficult to defeat.

Liverpool will have a strong chance at winning the title, but in the end, Manchester City should outlast them in the race for the trophy.

Which teams will be relegated?

The relegation battle will be intense this term. Norwich City (-120) won the Championship last season in impressive fashion, but are tipped to go back down. Watford and Brentford also came up from the Championship. Both clubs are favorites for relegation at odds of +100 and +110, respectively.

Premier League 2021-22 first manager sacked

Pressure will be high on managers to get results early and often. Watford coach Xisco Munoz is the early favorite to be fired at odds of +650. Watford has never been shy about sacking managers if results are poor.

One coach to watch is Arsenal’s, Mikel Arteta. Reports last season, claimed Arsenal would sack Arteta if the club gets off to a poor start. Arteta is +1200 to be fired first this season.

Other notable coaches that could be sacked first include Newcastle’s Steve Bruce (+900), Crystal Palace’s new coach Patrick Vieira (+750), and Southampton’s Ralph Hassenhuttl (1100).
