Each week I’ll highlight my favorite GPP picks that I have some confidence heading into the weekend to put into my player pools. On the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast, Betz and myself will dive into a couple of these but this article is intended for DFS Pass subscribers to get the full lay of the land.
Quarterbacks
Note: Remember on FD the pricing for QBs is bunched together so seemingly “expensive” players. I personally like paying up for QBs on this site and prize rushing QBs even more than on DK. Selecting QBs for GPPs is about finding stacking partners that also give you leverage on the field. Remember QB roster percentages are relatively flat. Nevertheless, refer to the FanDuel cash game picks and then add these guys in the mix of players who are contrarian. Obviously Mahomes and Lamar are stellar plays in both formats.
Kyler Murray vs HOU- $8,700
Last week Kyler’s roster percentage plummeted as concerns over Cardinals COVID issues and the overall vibes of the Browns left many (including me) fading Cardinals options. He instead responded with an impressive performance and four more passing TDs. He’s the league MVP through the first third of the season and Kyler’s matchup this week against the Texans could be another cupcake. The Cardinals are 16.5-point favorites and Murray should cruise against a defense ranked 31st in defensive DVOA according to Football Outsiders. Houston is allowing the highest 3rd down success rate and 4th most yards per play. Stacking Kyler with one option in hopes he scores one on the ground is the preferred option.
Jalen Hurts @ LV- $8,300
All this guy has done is produce for fantasy as a top-10 QB every single week. You know all about his rushing production but the Eagles have the 2nd highest pass rate (70%) in the league. Raiders games have consistently been up-tempo in pace with their defense seeing the 6th most plays per game. I like single-stacking Hurts with someone like Dallas Goedert. The Raiders are allowing the 4th highest target share to opposing TEs. His salary is meshed with lots of other well-known QBs so you’re going to get him at a lower roster percentage than usual.
