It’s a three-game slate in the NBA Playoffs this evening, we start the night with the Boston Celtics taking on the Brooklyn Nets live on TNT at 7.30pm ET.
This game will be the main focus of our same-game parlay, but don’t forget to also check our picks on the side and total for Lakers vs. Suns and Mavericks vs. Clippers!
Kevin Durant Over 27.5 Points (-106)
Jayson Tatum Over 30.5 Points (-108)
James Harden Over 9.5 Assists (+112)
Kemba Walker Over 4.5 Assists (+120)
Parlay odds: +1447
Kevin Durant Over 27.5 Points (-106)
The offensive hierarchy is pretty clear at the Brooklyn Nets – Kevin Durant is the number one option on offense, he has the green light to take a shoot whenever he wants. He had the most attempts from the field in Game 1 and went 10-for-25 from the field, including 1-for-8 from three-point land. It wasn’t the best of shooting nights for him, but he made up for it by going 11-for-12 from the line and finished the game with 32 points. The good news is he isn’t afraid to initiate contact, with nobody on the Celtics being able to stay in front of him, I think he will continue being aggressive and shoot a lot better in Game 2. Hopefully that results in a similar point output like in Game 1.
Jayson Tatum Over 30.5 Points (-108)
Tatum also had a disappointing shooting night going only 6-for-20 from the field and 1-for-4 from distance. He also had four turnovers on the night and finished the game with five personal fouls. That simply isn’t going to cut it for Boston, he will need to bounce back in Game 2 with a much better performance. If recent games are to be believed, this was only a fluke and he will turn it up a notch tonight. Over his last 10 outings he has averaged 31.2 points per game on 49 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from three-point land. Against the Nets in the regular season he averaged 29.7 points per game and shot 50 percent from the field. With Jaylen Brown not playing, he is the one responsible for carrying this team offensively, he will get his attempts tonight, let’s hope he makes them.
James Harden Over 9.5 Assists (+112)
The Nets shot only 41.7 percent from the field in Game 1 and dished out just 18 assists as a team. Both those numbers aren’t here to stay though, this team is arguably the most talented team on offense we have ever seen. Harden led the team with eight assists on Saturday and that’s exactly what is expected of him. Although he’s the shooting guard on paper, he handles the ball most of the time and gets everyone else involved. Brooklyn’s bench scored only 11 points in Game 1, Harden will make sure that does not happen again in Game 2.
Kemba Walker Over 4.5 Assists (+120)
Walker averaged 4.3 assists per game during the regular season, in Game 1 he dished out only two of them which is far too low for your primary ball handler if you are the Celtics. Brad Stevens is a good enough coach to realize this and point it out to Kemba before Game 2. The Celtics were also a -21 with Walker on the floor in his 27 minutes played, the team looked out of sync offensively and they shot just 36.9 percent from the field. We expect a higher scoring game tonight, so expect Kemba to get everyone involved as he gets to at least five assists.
