The 2021 MLB season kicked off over a month ago now, and the action has been jam-packed. Why not celebrate the start of a new week by going for a big payday on Monday? That’s right, we’re back with another MLB mega parlay, this time a three-teamer with a payout of 15/1, where we’re counting on the Angels and Twins to win big.
We’re going big and bold, so let’s not waste any more time. We’re diving in, but don’t forget to check out our picks for the side and total on every MLB game, with our team of experts in red-hot form to start the season.
Minnesota Twins -2.5 (+185)
Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+205)
Toronto Blue Jays ML (+100)
Parlay odds: +1639
Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Minnesota Twins -2.5 (+185)
The Twins are the perfect team to take on the alternate run line right now. Their offense is on fire, and each of their last three wins have come by at least eight runs. Over their past four games, they’re averaging 8.75 runs. Kenta Maeda hasn’t been great this season, but he had a 2.70 ERA in his first year with the Twins in 2020 so I’m not too concerned. It’s only a matter of time before he turns things around, and it should come here against a weak-hitting Texas team. The Rangers have by all accounts over-achieved their talent so far, and they still only rank 20th in OPS. Texas will start Dane Dunning, who has only 12 big league starts under his belt. In his last two, he’s given up nine earned runs in only 7 and 2/3 innings.

Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+205)
The Tampa Bay Rays have been a big disappointment on the heels of their World Series appearance. The Angels are going to roll them here. Shohei Ohtani on the mound for the Angels vs. Tyler Glasnow of the Rays. Ohtani has the kind of upside that makes the run line look appealing. If he pitches well, he’s likely going to pitch really well. He’s struggled a bit with his control in limited action pitching, but he’s only given up six hits in 13 and 2/3 innings while striking out 23. Clearly he’s got nasty stuff, and in two of his three outings he’s given up one or zero runs. The Angels are second in the league in OPS, so it’s not like offense has been their issue. The Rays on the other hand rank 22nd in that category.

Toronto Blue Jays ML (+100)
The Blue Jays are one of the hottest teams in MLB right now. They’ve won seven of their past nine games, and shouldn’t be underdogs here. They just swept the Braves, winning three consecutive games by a combined score of 26-12. Oakland will start Frankie Montas here, who has a 6.20 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through five starts. Over his last two outings, he’s given up 15 hits, nine earned runs, and four home runs. As such, I think Toronto will be able to keep up their recent strong hitting. Steven Matz has pitched much better than his 4.00 ERA suggests, he just had one really bad start against the Nationals. The Blue Jays have the fourth-lowest bullpen ERA in the league, and it’s almost a full run lower than Oakland’s.
