MLB Tuesday three-team mega parlay (+1611 odds): Reds keep rolling

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo (58) throws a pitch in the third inning of the MLB National League game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park in downtown Cincinnati on Wednesday, April 7, 2021

The 2021 MLB season kicked off more than two months ago now, and the action has been jam-packed. Why not go for a big payday on Tuesday? That’s right, we’re back with another MLB mega parlay, this time a three-teamer with a payout north of 16/1, and we’re counting on the Reds to keep up their recent hot play.

We’re going big and bold, so let’s not waste any more time. We’re diving in, but don’t forget to check out our picks for the side and total on every MLB game, with our team of experts in red-hot form.

New York Mets -1.5 (+135)

Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (+160)

Miami Marlins -1.5 (+180)

Parlay odds: +1611

Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

New York Mets -1.5 (+135)

After winning the opener of this series convincingly, the Mets have now won six of eight. Four of those six wins came against the Padres, so it’s not like they’ve just been beating up on weak teams. New York is now 12-5 in their last 17 overall. Their starters and relievers have both been phenomenal recently. They now have the eighth-lowest bullpen ERA in the league. The Mets also have a huge edge on the mound here, with Taijuan Walker facing off against Alec Mills.

Walker has been a revelation this season, with a 2.07 ERA in 11 starts. He’s been really good when healthy the past few years, so this isn’t a fluke. In five of his past six outings, he’s given up one or zero runs. Mills on the other hand is a 29-year-old with only 18 career starts under his belt, and he has a 6.08 ERA in 13 appearances and one start this season.

Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (+160)

The Reds are absolutely on fire right now. They just swept a series against Colorado, beating them by a combined score of 27-10 across three games. That kind of offensive upside is exactly what we’re looking for when backing a team on the run line. They’ve been very consistent, scoring at least four runs in nine of their past 11 games. That includes the opener of this series against the Brewers. The Reds slumped for a bit, but are now 11-3 in their past 14 games.

Reds starter Luis Castillo has struggled this season, but he’s been great the past couple of years, so I wasn’t ready to write him off. Now he’s starting to pitch a lot better, and has only given up eight hits across 16 and 2/3 innings in his last three starts. With the lineup peaking as well, now is the time to back him. Brewers starter Brett Anderson has a 4.99 ERA, and isn’t anything to be afraid of.

Miami Marlins -1.5 (+180)

It’s never a bad idea to back the Marlins when Trevor Rogers is pitching. The young lefty has quickly established himself as one of the best pitchers in the game, and has a 2.02 ERA in 13 starts. At the age of 23. He’s only given up more than two earned runs once in those 13 starts, and even then it was only three. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Marlins are 7-3 in his last 10 starts.

Importantly, each of those seven wins came by multiple runs. Miami has actually been hitting fairly consistently recently, so don’t be scared off this run line by their lineup. The Marlins also have the superior bullpen in this one. St. Louis has been slumping hard recently, losing nine of their last 10 games entering this series.
