Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. made his return to the lineup on Wednesday, after undergoing meniscus surgery on his left knee back in August.
Despite the Grizzles losing to the Clippers, it was still a victorious moment for the third-year player. In 18 minutes of action, Jackson finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Jackson, who missing the first 56 games of the season, says it was a win for him to just be back out there on the court.
“As soon as I checked into the game, I couldn’t help but laugh a little bit,” Jackson says. “Just being out there in general was a win for me. Thank God that joint [the first shot] rolled in.”
The 2018 No. 4 pick out of Michigan St. has shined for the Grizzlies throughout his career. Prior to his injury, Jackson was tearing it up in the bubble last season, averaging 17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game.
The Grizzlies (29-28) are currently holding onto the 8th spot in the Western Conference, with the Warriors and Spurs only a game behind. Now that Jackson is back and healthy, his return will be a huge addition for Memphis.
