Houston Rockets Sign Cam Reynolds For the Rest of Regular Season

The Houston Rockets finished out their late-season roster moves this week signing Cam Reynolds through the rest of the regular season.

The 26-year-old Reynolds was with the San Antonio Spurs earlier in the season on a 10-day deal in March, playing briefly in three games. Reynolds could get minutes due to Houston’s injury problems over the past couple of weeks. He scored 4 points on 2-2 shooting in a Rockets win over the Clippers on Friday night.

Cam was undrafted in 2018 coming out of Tulane before signing with the Sacramento Kings before being cut in training camp. Later on that season, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves where he averaged 5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.7 assists in 19 games.

Since then, Reynolds has toiled in the G-League for the last three years playing for the affiliates of the Kings, Bucks, and Spurs. His G-League averages are 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 42.5 percent shooting.

Reynolds discussed his appreciation for the opportunity with Fox 26 Houston’s Marc Berman.

The Rockets will likely want to find another diamond in the rough like Armoni Brooks who can shoot from beyond the arc. For Reynolds, this signing could be an audition for training camp next year.
