Life is just that bit better for the England captain, not just because the Three Lions beat Germany, but he finally broke his European Championship scoring duck.

Kane’s 86th-minite header sealed a memorable 2-0 win for England at Wembley and fans believe more than ever that football will come home.

It was a nervy tie with both teams exchanging good chances to score but it was goalless at half-time before Raheem Sterling sent the Wembley crowd wild and then Kane killed the game off.

And it has been revealed that an inspiring dressing room team talk by Kane also played a huge role in the victory.

England’s senior kit man, Pat Frost, said he was left with ‘goosebumps’ when Kane gave a 30-second speech just before he and his teammates walked out onto the Wembley turf.

Frost added he knew it was going to be England’s day after Kane said his piece.

“So before we leave the dressing room for KO we have a massive huddle,” he tweeted.

“The skipper spoke for about 30 seconds and it was goosebumps…..that’s when I knew we couldn’t lose tonight.”

Even Jose Mourinho was swept up in the euphoria, telling talkSPORT he was singing ‘Three Lions’ at his home in Portugal.

“I’m really happy for Southgate, the players and the fans,” he said, but pointed out there was work still to be done.

“In the normal conditions England are going to be in the final, because I don’t see them losing against the teams they could face in the next rounds.

“But we must respect football and the unpredictability. France are not in the quarter-finals because they didn’t respect the game in the final ten minutes.”
