Conor McGregor slams ’embarrassing’ Dustin Poirier for Charles Oliviera loss at UFC 269 and fires back at Nate Diaz

Conor McGregor has branded Dustin Poirier’s performance in his UFC lightweight title fight against Charles Oliveira as ‘embarrassing’.

Given the fact that Poirier defeated McGregor twice this year – the second victory coming as a result of McGregor breaking his leg – the Irishman was always going to have something to say about UFC 269’s main event.

Conor McGregor slammed Dustin Poirier’s performance

Oliveira submitted Poirier in the third round with a standing rear-naked choke. In the stand up Poirier was finding success, but when the fight went to the ground, it was a different story.

Nate Diaz wasn’t impressed with The Diamond, saying: “How Conor let Dp f*** him up hella times he sucks.”

McGregor was quick to reply, laying into both Diaz and Poirier.

“You lanky string of piss he got lumped around and got lucky twice. That’s it. Is what it is. Embarrassing night for him alright. That closed guard game. Wtf was that. Wow! Shocking.

“All good happy Sat night horse yupya it’s proper twelve day tomorrow 12/12. New Paddy’s Day!

McGregor added another tweet, saying: “Hella times ahhahahaa it’s hella times in the black forge inn tomorrow for proper twelve day bro. Full of it. Sauce Money. Power.

“Runner up champ yous two are at least yous can say you made championship weight before on the scales at least that’s something hahaha.”

McGregor is referencing the fact that neither Diaz nor Poirier have ever won world titles in UFC, though Poirier was an interim champion at one stage.

McGregor also posted saying: “Brazil are the champs! Incredible! I remember Brazil.”

The Notorious included pictures of him in Brazil and where he tore up a picture of Jose Aldo, the Brazilian he defeated to become UFC featherweight champion.

The trilogy fight between Poirier and McGregor ended because of the latter’s injury, so UFC president Dana White has already suggested he’s interested in letting them fight once more.

McGregor is expected to return to the octagon in the summer of 2022 and Poirier is his likely opponent.
