Georgia Bulldogs Regular Season Wins

The Georgia Bulldogs are receiving a lot of hype going into this season, and it’s for good reason with this roster. JT Daniels will have his first full season at quarterback with the Bulldogs. The former USC Trojan flashed greatness in the offense a season ago. Daniels was inconsistent and at times inaccurate with USC, but he looked like a different quarterback with the Bulldogs in 2020. He passed for 10 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 67.2% completions through just four games. Daniels was impressive in all of his games, including a 392 yards against a capable Cincinnati defense in the Peach Bowl.

Expect Daniels to put his name on the NFL map with a strong campaign this season. He’s more than ready to reach his full potential. Daniels will have plenty of talent surrounding him in the offense. Starting with running back Zamir White, look for Georgia to move the ball efficiently on the ground. White is going to have a field day this season, and is the next great back in a long line of successful Bulldogs in the backfield. He gained 779 yards on 5.4 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns on just 144 attempts. Look for Daniels and White to keep defenses guessing this season. There doesn’t appear to be any holes with this defense either.

Georgia’s most difficult game is right out of the gate in Week 1. The Bulldogs have the Clemson Tigers, and then the rest of their schedule is more than manageable. In fact, Clemson looks like the only game where predictions are going to be mixed. I’m confident that they’ll be favorites for every matchup on the schedule after Clemson. Their only concern has to be the Florida Gators at the Swamp on October 30. Georgia should be favorites and get that one, though. They are vastly superior to the Gators in 2021. With the Tigers game the only question mark, Georgia should have at least 11 wins on the schedule. It’s a fairly easy schedule for the Bulldogs.

Michigan Wolverines Regular Season Wins

There is a scoring hot seat in Ann Arbor, and you can find it in the football department at the University of Michigan. Head coach Jim Harbaugh is on the hotter than hot seat in 2021. He’s had enough time at Michigan to put this program on the map again. However, the Wolverines still haven’t had a serious threat on the field since Lloyd Carr was the head coach. Chad Henne and Mario Manningham were on the team then. Harbaugh went back to his alma mater to save the program and now he’s facing a pink slip if things don’t change quickly.

Michigan is coming off a 2-4 season and sixth in the Big Ten East. It started off well with a 49-24 win, but the wheels soon fell off. The Wolverines were humiliated by a score of 49-11 against the Wisconsin Badgers at the Big House in the most lopsided loss at home in Michigan history. The team showed zero fight and didn’t look interested in being there that night. In response to close out the season, they needed overtime to beat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 48-42. Needing overtime to beat Rutgers just isn’t what Michigan fans envisioned in the Harbaugh era.

Cade McNamara has been named the starter at quarterback for the Wolverines. He was in a tight battle with JJ McCarthy for the starting job. McNamara showed promise in his limited time on the field last year. With Joe Milton erratic, McNamara took over at quarterback and the offense found its bearings. McNamara passed for 5 touchdowns and no interceptions on 60.6% completions. On a team that hasn’t had an exciting quarterback since Denard Robinson, McNamara should provide some hope in 2021. Look for Hassan Haskins to have a big season in the backfield and open things up for deep play potential.

There is talent at wide receiver with veteran Ronnie Bell returning. He is joined by plenty of young talent. Talent but a lot of unproven players in the receiving core for Michigan. Fortunately, the majority of the starters are back on the offensive line for the Wolverines. This season will be predicated by the play of McNamara. If he picks things up quickly, Michigan is going to be in business. On defense, they get a big boost with defensive leader Aidan Hutchinson coming back for his senior campaign. The rest of the defense is back except for linebacker Cameron McGrone. This schedule doesn’t look tough either, with a record of 8-4 at a minimum realistic.

North Carolina Tar Heels Regular Season Wins

The sneakiest team in college football might be in the ACC this season. The No. 10 in the country is my favorite sleeper in college football this season. The North Carolina Tar Heels have one of the finest quarterbacks in the nation in their possession. Sam Howell is positioned to make a run at the Heisman Trophy and put the Tar Heels in a nice place. Howell is coming off a strong season with 30 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 68.1% completions. This was after passing for 38 touchdowns and 7 interceptions as a freshman.

Howell didn’t take off and run as a freshman, but he used his legs much more effectively in 2020. He gained 146 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. Howell isn’t a burner by any means. Think Baker Mayfield when he was in college. Mayfield would scramble for yardage smartly when plays broke down. It’s just another element of Howell’s game that keeps defenses honest. All five offensive linemen will be back for the Tar Heels. That should help make Howell feel more comfortable in this offense. He is going to have a big season and one of my favorite dark horses to win the Heisman.

The most underrated aspect of North Carolina has to be their defense. They are going to be better than advertised going into the season. If the defense does come full circle, then the Tar Heels might be able to give Clemson a run for their money. The good news for them is that I do believe they’re going to be good. North Carolina has serious talent at linebacker with Eugene Asante and Jeremiah Gemmel back in the saddle. Their secondary is largely untouched with the entire unit pretty much back in 2021. This was an underrated defense last season and should only continue to improve.

Notre Dame and Miami are big games, with the Tar Heels getting the Hurricanes at home. If the Tar Heels beat Virginia Tech in Week 1, they could drop both of those games and still make it to 10 wins. North Carolian are favorites to beat the Hokies on the road in Blacksburg. Getting Miami at home is big as well. I’m high on North Carolina this season, so naturally I feel good about the Tar Heels getting into the double digits.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Regular Season Wins

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are getting no attention and love from the media going into this season. After going to the ACC Championship as members of the ACC for a season, everyone is ignoring the Fighting Irish. Is that a smart move? Maybe, maybe not, but I think this team can at least get to 9 wins looking at their schedule. I think they’re going to be better than anticipated under Jack Coan at quarterback.

No, I’m not a fan of Notre Dame football in the least, but looking at this schedule, 9-3 or 10-2 looks very attainable. Coan should be reliable enough at quarterback. He goes to Notre Dame after a strong season at Wisconsin last season. Coan passed for 18 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 69.6% completions. He was the best quarterback in the Big Ten that didn’t garner much attention. Coan is highly underrated and is likely to find success in this offense. With the combo of Kyren Williams and Chris Tyree touting the ball for the Fighting Irish, Coan is going to find options downfield. Defenses will have to honor the run against Notre Dame.

The defense is going to be fast and aggressive again. There aren’t many moving parts for Notre Dame on defense this season. They allowed 344 yards per game last season, which included games against Alabama and Clemson. Much of the pieces from that defense are returning for the Fighting Irish. Drew White at linebacker and safety Kyle Hamilton should solidify a very strong unit. Hamilton has the potential to be drafted very high in the draft. He is slated to go off the oard in the first-round.

There are a couple of spots on the schedule that are going to be tough assignments for Notre Dame. They have Wisconsin on the road on September 25, which won’t be easy. All of their remaining toughest opponents are at home, though. North Carolina, Cincinnati, and USC are going to South Bend. Their other trips on the road are pretty beatable. I think they’re getting to 9 or 10 wins this season, so the OVER has to be worth a look in this spot.
