The 2021/22 Champions League group stages are over and that means attention will now turn to the knockout rounds of the elite competition.

Following the climax of the group stage, the tournament will move into the last 16 as the winners and runners up of the eight pools face off in the knockout phase leading up to the final at the Gazprom Arena.

Champions League draw: Date and how to follow

The last-16 draw ceremony will take place on Monday, December 13 in Nyon, Switzerland.

It will get under way at 11am UK time.

Champions League: Who can play who?

Two seedings pots will be formed, one of the eight group winners (seeded) and another with the eight group runners up (unseeded) .

A seeded side will face an unseeded side in the last 16, however no team can play a club from their group or any side from their own association meaning there will be no all-Premier League ties at this stage.

The seeded group winners will play the first leg away from home, with the second leg being in front of their own fans.

The first legs will be played on February 15, 16, 22 and 23 while the second legs will be played on March 8, 9, 15 and 16.
